Silky feel, brilliant tone, and incredible string life.

Gauges: 12-16-25-33-43-53

Cleartone Acoustic Strings feature the finest phosphor bronze available for the warmest and brightest resonance on acoustic guitars. A unique treatment called EMP coats the entire string with an ultrathin protective film. It's the thinnest coating ever applied to guitar strings (less than one micron!) and will withstand more abuse from hard strumming than coatings 1000 times thicker! EMP ensures longer string life by protecting strings from corrosion due to skin acidity, salt, and moisture without compromising feel and sound.

Super-high tension winding over a hex-core is used to maintain tuning consistency throughout performance duration.

Cleartone Phosphor-Bronze Light Acoustic Guitar Strings Features:

  • Thinnest coating ever!
    Dramatically increases string life
    Protects strings from corrosion
    Withstands hard strumming
    American made

  • These strings are terrible.

As reviewed by Daniel Olds on 4/5/2012

I put a set of elixirs on my breedlove after I bought it. I was happy with the tone and I left them on the guitar for about ten months. I'm mainly a bass player, and this is my living room guitar, so I don't change the strings every month or every couple weeks. I made the mistake of buying some cleartone strings recently. After two weeks on my breedlove, they now sound worse than the elixirs did after nearly a year. The tone dies as fast on cleartones as it does on a set of uncoated acoustic strings. The worst part is that I now have an extra set of cleartones (I bought the 3-pack and gave a set away) that I don't even want to use as a backup set. BUY ELIXIR.

  • Initial tone does last.

As reviewed by Frank Garcia on 10/20/2011

The original tone of the strings sound like a 2-hour played set of standard phosphor-bronze on my Taylor - warm and not too bright. Felt like a set of uncoated strings - also had that same uncoated string noise from both my pick and from sliding down the fretboard. Played a rehearsal and two gigs the next day. I wiped them down each time before I close my case. Pulled the guitar out the day after that - dead strings. Low E and A string just thudded, no ring at all. They still looked nice, bright and shiny, with no discoloration at all, but just sounded dead. Compared to another brand of nano-coated string that I can get weeks of playing out of, I'll definitely go with those other strings. I personally will not recommend these strings to anyone.

  • Sounds good

As reviewed by David Hyde on 10/12/2011

These strings sound good on my Martin. Loud, bright with lots of sustain. To me they are a little more squeeky then I like. I've been using Elixir's but I like the Cleartone Lights a little better. We will see how long they last. Cost a little more then the Elixir's.
