Silky feel, brilliant tone, and incredible string life.

Gauges: 11-15-24-32-42-52

Cleartone Acoustic Guitar Strings feature the finest phosphor bronze available for the warmest and brightest resonance on acoustic guitars. A unique treatment called EMP coats the entire string with an ultrathin protective film.

It's the thinnest coating ever applied to guitar strings (less than one micron!) and will withstand more abuse from hard strumming than coatings 1000 times thicker! EMP ensures longer string life by protecting strings from corrosion due to skin acidity, salt, and moisture without compromising feel and sound.

Super-high tension winding over a hex-core is used to maintain tuning consistency throughout performance duration.

Cleartone Phosphor-Bronze Extra Light Acoustic Guitar Strings Features:

  • Thinnest coating ever!
    Dramatically increases string life
    Protects strings from corrosion
    Withstands hard strumming
    American made

  • I like em

As reviewed by Don Whempner on 2/28/2012

Tried as many different brands of strings as I could get my hands on when I got my maple body jumbo. Everything I tried sounded too bright until I played the Cleartones. Have been using them for a couple of years now and love the sound. Never been aware of the fact that I'm playing coated strings and the coating has never flaked. Would have given them 5 stars if it were not for the stiffeners issue that has been mentioned in other reviews but isn't much of a challenge for my style of playing.

  • Do Not Buy

As reviewed by Joe on 3/23/2010

I have always been a Martin SP string guy. The guy behind the counter basically forced me to buy these, said these were the best strings to get. WRONG! I got extra light to have the intention to rip a solo if I'd feel like it. These strings feel like your bending a 1/4 inch steel rod. Also, when installing them, (i use the "tie " method), 2 out of the 6 strings actually broke, and i had to improvise and hardly wrap the string around the machine heads(only about 1 time). Finally, they're only a week old, an my G string broke. Yea so much for 3-4 times the life. puh. Save yourself the 20 bucks, and just get yourself a set of martins

  • Painful fingers

As reviewed by Steve on 4/20/2010

Pros: Tone; very nice. Feel: ok, a little slick. Longevity: after 2 months, they have held up. However, because of their main downfall, I found myself playing A LOT less! Cons: Strings are extremely stiff. Bending a note requires more force. The amazing thing is I now remember how my finger tips felt when first starting to play: painful. I tried the strings on two very different guitars, sweet sounding handbuilt Martin OM style and my inexpensive beater Epiphone DR-100, with the same results. I have switched to D?Addario EXP10?s and am very happy so far.
