Schecter Guitar Research

collapse expand iconDescription

The Schecter Banshee with Floyd Rose Passive Electric Guitar has a double-cutaway alder body with a quilted maple top. It features a bolt-on multi-laminate neck and a 24-fret ebony fingerboard. It's loaded with a great combination of Seymour Duncan JB SH-4/'59 and SH-1N pickups for all the heavy rock tones you'll need. Grover tuning machines with a Floyd Rose Special double-locking tremolo bridge allow for massive tremolo effects, as well as total tuning stability and tonal sustain. The electric guitar's appointments include dot position markers, body binding and black chrome hardware.

Grover Tuners
The original Rotomatic with an improved higher ratio gearing. The 18:1 ratio provides for finer tuning and greater stability. The finer gears provide smoother tuning and a higher degree of backlash elimination

Ebony Fingerboard
Ebony has a snappy, crisp attack with the density of Maple, but with more brittle grains, oilier pores, and a stronger fundamental tone than Maple. It has a tremendous amount of percussive overtones in the pick attack, that mute out shortly thereafter to foster great, long, sustain

Seymour Duncan JB SH-4/'59 SH-1N Pickups
Bridge: The world's most popular humbucker. Provides slammin' output while retaining singing highs, aggressive harmonics, and just the right blend of sustain and distortion. Goes from sweet warm tones to raw rock 'n' roll. Neck: Versatile P.A.F.-type humbucker. Late-'50s, vintage-correct, humbucker sound. Warm and crystalline clean tones. Full and bright distorted tones. Smooth sustain. Classic appointments include plain enamel wire, long legged bottom plate.

Multi-Laminate Maple & Walnut Neck
Made from 3 pieces of maple and 2 center strips of walnut. This well balanced combination of select wood takes the bright tones of maple and adds a dark tone from the walnut strips. Often used for Thru neck construction giving the acoustic tone of the instrument a perfect string vibration transfer to the body.

Compound Radius (12"-16") Fingerboard
Everyone knows how comfortable vintage guitar necks are for rhythm, but without uncomfortably high action, string bending "frets-out" on the higher frets. With a Compound radius fretboard you get the comfort of a 12" radius at the lower frets for Chording and easy access of Soloing at the higher frets with the 16" radius, not to mention perfect playability at the lowest string height possible.
