Nice picks

I like these Clayton picks. I've tried them in the .45 and the .56 thicknesses, and have made a second purchase of both. A little background: I've used Dunlop Tortex picks for years, used to buy them in packs of 72 in 1.14, .50, and .60 I play acoustic, electric, and mandolin. Compared to the Tortex picks, these Ultem picks are crisper and have more bite when needed. I haven't yet used the thicker Ultem picks on my mandolin, but I am looking forward to trying them out. Compared to the Tortex, these Ultem's wear a bit better, but I've actually broken a .45 by playing too hard at the bridge. It hasn't happened since because I'm trying to not play so hard. One of the reasons I went to the Ultem is because I can get bite and overtones with less force. My opinion - I've played with a real turtoise pick and regardless of what ever I've played since, nothing compares to real turtoise for that combination of bite, flexibility, durability, and warmth. Maybe it is not animal friendly to say that, but sorry, it's true. I keep on looking for that utimate pick and these Ultem's are the closest thing yet... My .02
