I'm a solo flamenco guitarist. I purchased two of these Chauvet 38s and mounted them on a t-bar lighting stand, and I was amazed at what I got for the money. First of all, the choices of transition settings is amazing. I set mine to slow speed, smooth color transitions, and then when I plug them in, they do their job without any controller. As a solo artist, two of these is more than enough light to light my stage area. The LED lights give off practically no heat what so ever, so I'm neither sweating under the light, nor having to retune my nylon strings, as most lights heat levels detune nylon string guitars. The lights are DMX programmable if you want more control. They are light in weight, and one of the neat features is the double-bracket it hangs from, they can be set up to stand the light on the floor, something most lighting brackets don't do. There is no noise or buzzing coming from the lights, and thus far I've had no interference with other equipment. Well worth the price!
A DMX controllable flat PAR that isn't grossly over priced, I am truly impressed. I ordered 4 of these to start with instead of the Chauvet light bars. I really wanted the light bar, but, they are too expensive for me. I figure with these, priced extremely reasonably, I get flexibility and essentially the same effects as the light bar. All them powered up, no sweat. I am using them for uplighting right now, they do a great job, run cool and are plenty bright. I ordered 4 more for a total of 8. Granted, I would have come our cheaper with the light bar, but again, I can use these together to achieve a similar effect, plus, I can use them seperately for uplighting, etc. Win/win if you asked me. The quality is good, metal, doesn't feel like its going to break, easy to program for either DMX or built in programs. A couple very small issues...the instructions need to be complete and the way the supports are attached to the light make it a challange to sit on the floor. Very minor issues, I am very happy with these lights for a DJ/live bar band setting. At this price you can afford to purchase one and try it out! I wouldn't be surprised if I order 8 more of these next year. Normally I order only Amer DJ, but due to a recent issue with them and their DMX software, I swore off Amer DJ, what a blessing in disguise! Great DMX controllable light for the money!
