This 4-channel DMX-512 LED effect light gives you choices galore. The Chauvet Elan has built-in automated and sound-active programs via master/slave mode, that make it a versatile addition to any effect lighting set-up. It also has 2 built-in microphones and 2 sound-sensitivity knobs, one for the LEDs and one for the motor, for even more visual creativity. The 224 low-power, ultra-bright LEDs have a 70 beam angle and provide you with at least 100,000 hours of use. An additional power output allows daisy chaining up to 20 Elan DMX units.

I got this baby out of the box and had too much fun testing it. First of all...this light is big, bulky, and a bit heavier than my previous light. As you can tell by its design, its angle is limited, if you expect the LEDs to blend color, they don't, thats mostly with triLEDs. I do not find any of this to be a problem for me, i can't talk for you. Despite those issues, this light more than compensates with its amazing performance. even in stand-alone, you have superb control. Being able to control both the motor and the LEDs and their performance, allows for creativity if you still do not have a need for full DMX. Once you play with this light, you'll see it easily beats the others.
I bought this light for a gig because my other light broke and it was so nice how the two mics that it has are so good in making the effect. sincerly im thinking of buying another one because it by far one of the best led lights out there.Chauvet really did a good job in making this light.
This is a great product, the separate LED sensitivity and motor sensitivity controls allows you to selct what color you want or pattern without a dmx controller. The mics are very sensitive, I love that they black out when there is no music playing in strobe mode and comes right back on when the music starts. The LEDS are bright and cover a huge area; they respond so well to the music they encourage you to dance.
We purchased two of the Chauvet Elan DMX LED lights as soon as it hit the market this year. This was our first purchase of an LED light and we are so happy we decided on the Elan. Its 70 degree spread covers our rectangular shaped dance floor perfectly. We set up the lights opposing each other at the center of the dance floor and it has a great effect. And while we don't have a DMX controller at this time, the sound actived programs work perfectly. The Elans are the first lights on at the beginning of the night and the last ones off.
This light did wonders for my light show as a mobile DJ. I purchased two and used them this weekend. Put out a wide beam that covered the whole dance floor. The sound-sensitivity knobs made it easy to adjust for the type of music mostly being played during the wedding. Can't wait to go DMX with these. Long lasting bulbs so I don't need to worry about them going out in the middle of a gig for many years to come and no duty cycle, what more can you ask for but a great price? Oh yeah, they have that too!!
