  I use these since 2008, however i noticed that the newest ones recently bought around end of 2009 and 2010 are not using the same parts (outlets) like the ones on 2008, new models are using cheap parts were after plugging on it couple times it just lose the ability to keep contact. I open ones of the new ones and one of the old ones that still working perfectly and notice the cheap plastic outlet on the new ones. Of course! Chauvet found a cheaper part to replace the good one and the price for the unit still the same (more profit). Sad to see that becuas the system itself is very simple and good to use when time comes for an on/off system. Thank You

• A big plus alternative to DMX

  I do mobile djing and there are two types of events in my book: Big-time like weddings and proms that I use my full set of DMX products, and Small-time like bar gigs and small corporate events where I'm not too concerned about bringing every light I own. It's those smaller (and more frequently occuring) events where this relay pack comes in handy for simply keeping the dancefloor morphing. So, if you're thinking about buying this products, you must have already bought the SR-8 package with the light-up switch panel. Now, you're here because it's really inconvenient having to stream three or four extension cords from one T-bar to the other. That was exactly my problem- I wanted to spread my lights out to hit the dancefloor from different angles. Well, this will do it with less cords and less work. The only reason I've got less than five stars is A) the relay switches are a little loud, but if any music is on, it's covered up. B) one or two switches have stopped working after two years, but I suppose that's to be expected from normal wear. C) The computer cable isn't included with this purchase. Other than those (which aren't a big deal) this relay pack gives you room to expand your kit and spread things out.
