We bought a couple of these to help a friend get started with DMX uplighting. If you're a beginner with DMX, this is a good entry level controller. It makes basic decor uplighting pretty easy.
I was very disappointed that this unit is basically an Obey 3 with an extra manual slider for the 4th (Amber or White) color. We have 4 color light fixtures, and this controller does not control them to their full potential. All of the automated functions work for RGB only. If the automated chases and presets used all 4 colors, I would give this controller an unreserved 5 stars.
the obey 4 is an amazing starter DMX controller. i now have and obey 40 for all my DMX lights, all my lights are American DJ but chuavet makes the best Controllers. its simple to use, and its instruction booklet gives you all you need to know to work the obey 40, if you have DMX mirror ball moters, they dont work on this, the obey 10 has the functions to control dmx moter but i loved my obey 4 for all its worth i would of kept it but i have over 100 lights so i have to upgrade to the obey 40 which is awsome to.
