My experience with this motor wasn't all that good. It was very jittery and kind of noisy (I had a standard 12" mirror ball hanging from it). I don't know if I got a bad one or what. I love Chauvet products, but I would steer clear of this one.
This motor works fine for my 12" mirror ball. It is quiet and smooth, but seems like it turns faster than the claimed 2 rpm. However, I have not clocked it, so don't quote me. Nobody got sick from the lights moving to quickly, so I guess it was OK.
I got the mot-2 with a mirror ball kit. I tried to mount it but the three machine screws that came with it would not even screw into the mounting holes. Now I am not sure how to mount it up to anything. There are not directions on how to use the mot-2 other than it is probably a common sense approach to plug it in. Make sure to keep the MB up high so no one can bump it with their head since the s hook could let go. I suppose someone smart could close the eyes on the hook. Other than that the mot-2 goes roundy round like it should with no stopping and is quiet.
