Chauvet's LED PAR 64 TRI is a PAR can that features 18, 3-watt, tri-colored LED lights that allow color mixing in each diode in order to produce a more vibrant and even color without producing multicolored shadows. The Chauvet LED PAR 64 TRI has built-in automated and built-in sound-activated programs that operate in master/slave or DMX modes with either 3 or 7 DMX channels. After using Chauvet products for years I am very impressed with their new line in LED lights especially par-cans. I bought 2 of these thinking I wouldn't use them much but after 2 weeks I had to buy four more! I use these six cans for uplighting, stage washes, downlight on me, and basically anything where I need a low profile light that gives off no heat. My favorite part of this light is the controls because,like some other lights I own, this light has everything on the back instead of the under side which I like because it give you more options on how to position the light wether it's on a truss or on the ground with the built in yoke. The light may be a little pricey but over all its a good light.
This is a fantastic stage light. It is easy to assemble wherever you wish to put it. The light shines at an optimal level. If you have a fog machine for the stage they will work together perfectly. And the chrome is a sweet way to go about setting up the stage.
LED lighting dominates the industry right now and it will be the future as incandescents go the way of the dinosaur.
In the meantime companies are struggling to be the first one to monopolize the market.
Who knows who will come out first but I can guarantee it will involve gobs of money and some shady side deals.
Even though these lights are light weight and easy to rig. I have to wonder how long they will last and what kind of versatility they pack. Plus the price seems a bit steep. Something tells me you will see these lights sold in a package with a board from Spencer gifts in a few years.
