I just recieved my LED Mushroom and hooked it up with all my other LED. Like all other LED units this one really comes to life when a lot of fog is added and the display of rayes going all over the place is just mind blowing. By far my favorite of all my many LED lights. It is an exelet entry level unit and I highly recommend it.
Went to GC to purchase the Vertigo tri LED base on reviews and videos but before I did, I had them do a side by side comparison of the vertigo and Mushroom LED (both $100) and the Mushroom was much brighter. Used it the next night and I was surprised by the brightness, and it didn't emit that polka-dot look. The mushroom has 3 basic RGB colors which twist, change colors and strobes to the beat of the music without a problem.
I bought the first LED Mushroom 6 weeks ago and thought it was very cool, nice and bright great patterns. Then last weekend I bought another one and a dmx controller so I could start to put a new light show together. Wrong, wrong, First I tried to run them on the 250$ controller I just bought but the 2 lights never do the same thing together even on the same start add. and you can't control the colors at all or the strobe speed one light won't even stop changing colors at all also you can never turn off the sound activation of the light in DMX. Now here is the best part the box and this ad on here say's you can run these is master-slave , right? NO, until I called chauvet and the tech I talked to said the light won't do master-slave until I told him the box said it would and I spent over an hour on my cell phone with this nice guy that for some reason doesn't know very much about his own lighting. He finally got the R&D guys and 2 lights out of the warehouse and went through all the dip switch settings until we got it to work in master-slave. Hooray!! right? NOPE! I then told the tech on the phone that the 2 lights a made different and the the factory must have made a running change to the light design { unknown to the tech} what the deal is, the first one I bought is an old run and you can't use it as the master but only the slave in the set up, and the 2 lights are still of just a tick off while in master-slave. 2 different lights and not really controllable ,why did i spend 250$ on a dmx controller when these won't work either way but stand alone? All I want is to return both lights and get American DJ lighting.
