I'm a concert lighting designer, but I also do a number of smaller venues such as bars and nightclubs that need advanced lighting for bands and performers. I've always been a wired kind of guy, but wanted to see what the wireless option is capable of. It's also much more convenient to use instead of running a 100-200ft cable to the stage from the booth. These little devices are sweet! They work on a separate band from the wireless mics, and have a number of frequencies to choose from. They are very easy to hang or place on a table. I can also see the tiny green blinking LED light from FOH indicating proper transmission. Nice metal covers. These didn't konk out during any part of the show. Only reason I'm not giving a perfect 5 stars is because I noticed a slight choppy delay during slow fading scene changes using automatic mode on my DMX controller. At certain points the fade looked nice and smooth, but then the scene would jump. However, a perfect product for many applications, and would definitely buy again. I gotta say that Guitar Center service and delivery is superb; just don't get it get to your head now (LOL).
I purchased these as to the cheaper one's because I wanted more wireless channels in the event of an interference issue. For the first purchase, you have to buy 2. Set one up as Transmitter and the other as a receiver. Since then, I have picked up a couple more and mounted them to our trusses. All set to the same channel, they work great!! Even hooked one up to a DMX splitter which gives you 4 separate connection areas without the need for Daisy chaining everything together.. So... Get a few of these units and say goodbye to DMX cable issues.
