The Chauvet 4PLAY provides a ready-to-go lighting bar for the traveling entertainer. The bar is fitted with four LED moonflowers each containing 57 red, green, blue, and white diodes to produce razor-sharp, rotating beams. The 4PLAY light bar gives you individual control of red, green, blue, and white LEDs within each light plus each of the four moonflower lights can be individually positioned. This package is a fantastic, cost effective investment for a working DJ or band. It offers multiple ways to control, although I currently use it in mic mode. I have not had the chance yet to connect to my DMX controller but am anticipating that once I do, it will offer the level of control I'm looking for. There are 2 reasons why I only rated it 4 stars - 1) I don't rate anything 5 stars and 2) I have to agree with another reviewer that this unit is more impressive with the application of a fog machine so the beams stand out more. For a club band, this is an incredibly effective investment as it is inexpensive comparatively yet raises the professional impression immensely. Do yourself a favor and invest in these babies!! I plan on purchasing at least one more unit, if not a few more. You WON'T be disappointed.
I bought these for my band.The lights can be controlled by a separate controller.I use it in mic mode.It is sound activated and will work along with the music.I mounted this rack to a speaker stand and even was able to mount two par cans on top of it with the bolts that are provided with it.(I think those bolts are there so that you can mount the bar to a couple of clamps),but I put the bolts through the holes in the par cans and fixed them to the bar and after mounting them to a tripod stand,I was able to light up the small stage we played on in a small club last week.These lights are worth the money and will add a little flash to your stage show.
Although I haven't been too impressed with the actual pattern these led lights put on the floor or walls, the beams are REALLY impressive with fog. The best feature is being able to aim the lights individually to make some really cool cross beams. And although these aren't moving heads, some of the patterns alternate rows of leds enough to give it that feel.
Another great feature is the mounting hole that allows you to slide this on to most standard speaker stands without any extra clamps... and it's very light too.
For the price, these are hard to beat, and with a dmx controller, you CAN program each head individually for really nice customization.
