This American beauty delivers articulate ringing tone!

Chandler steels are used by leading pro players for 2 simple reasons: great sound and great looks. Weissenborn-style slab body is made of solid mahogany. Through-body stringing enhances tone and response, and the oversize CC-90 hand-wound single coil delivers high and lonesome tone with acres of warm, resonant sustain. Art deco graphics offer a classic 1940s look.

RH2 works well

Just bought the RH-2 and test drove it last night. I'm playing it through a Fender Blues Deluxe 40 watt with a Dan Electro delay and it didn't take long to dial in the kind of tone I was hoping for. It's a nice looking and feeling instrument and the tone of the CC90 pick up sounds right to my ears. I am having a blast with it already and would recommend it as a first steel. The cheaper steels are just that - these instruments are simple but that doesn't mean they have to be cheaply made either. The Chandler is a pro grade instrument and I would trust it on the road by my first impression of it. It has stayed in tune nicely and the tuners are quality. I have read that others' pots have gone bad quickly and we'll see about that as the months progress but so far so good. Very nice instrument. I like the shape of it and the proportions are good. The binding is a nice touch and you have to like that fret board! Put da lime in de coconut mon....

A solid all-around performer

Overall, I'm very happy with my RH-2. The CC-90 PU sounds great...a little brighter than a typical P-90, but still has decent mid-range honk. The tuners work well, and it stays in tune. The volume/tone knobs could be a bit closer to the strings for volume swells, but this is minor issue...I use a volume pedal. It did arrive with a bad buzz when I played an open low E...I e-mailed Chandler and Adrian Chandler got right back to me. He suggested that I file the nut slot for that string, and that did the trick...a 2 min. repair. I've had no problem with the pots, as others have mentioned. I've got the case as well...it's a nice case, but a tad pricey.

pretty great

well, after watching P.U.L.S.E by pink floyd i decided i needed to dabble in slide guitar. and what an instrument to dabble with. it has great tone, easy to get a basic grip on as long as you have some scale knowledge and just fun to play around with. i did have one problem with it however, the p90, when run through my marshall jcm900 tube amp wasnt picking up my high e string like it was all the others. so, i raised that side of the pickup almost right next to the string and that remedied the problem well enough. im thinkin about replacing the p90 with a leftover bridge humbucker i have though
