Just short of buying an automatic standby, this generator is the next best choice. I put the unit in a small metal storage shed next to my home. I have it connected to my 500 gallon bulk LP tank and is also connected to my 200 amp breaker box via the L14-30 twist lock plug. My LP provider approved the connection to my home regulator. 14" wc, about 1/2 psi, runs the unit perfect. I have the 240 connected to a twin 30amp breaker in my main box that can only be active after the main is switched off due to the lock-out bar. I have a battery maintainer/charger connected to keep the battery topped off at all times. A large metal duct was attached to the shed to vent exhaust, 3 other vents were put in for air flow but I only run the unit with the door open and a high velocity fan blowing on the generator for cooling. This unit runs everything but my central AC with no problem. Sump pump, fridge, freezer, TV,multiple lights, computers, internet and WIFI,5000 BTU window AC,and most important my wifes hair tools. The units electric start works great, unit starts up first try at about 1/2 choke and runs smooth. At the 5 hour mark I will switch over to full synthetic motor oil. Only about 3 hours on the unit, but zero problems. Fantastic generator.

Why not running on gas

I have ran my generator on propane and can't seem to get it to work on gasoline. Found a cut wire and for the generator to operate but ran roughly. Any help

Easy to put together, starts right up every time, and very consistent wattage and voltage. The digital screen is very nice to have to view wattage, voltage, and hours. I live at a high altitude so i called to get their high altitude jet kit for the carburetor and the whole process was easy and it showed up very quickly with not charge. I have not problem relying on this when we have power outages.

Bought this 7500w dual fuel generator because I have an ample supply of propane and gasoline. As an air ambulance pilot who has seen the aftermath of many hurricanes (most recently Harvey in Texas), I can appreciate the utility and convenience that a generator brings. The ability to charge electronics, generate ice, and prevent hundreds of dollars worth of frozen foods to spoil is worth the relatively rare use. Living in a heavily forested area, our power goes off whenever a good wind storm rolls through, so having this generator on hand is great peace of mind. The hook up instructions were crystal clear, the starting was easy, and the unit ran great on propane. Yes, it's a bit noisy, but you can barely hear it when you are in the house. And it is impossible to hear over the sound of the blender making margaritas.

This is an awesome generator! We recently moved to a new house and I wanted something for when the power goes out since we have well water. It was a little easier for us since the previous owners had a transfer switch installed at the breaker box. The generator took about 15 min to set up (honesly!). I plugged it in to the transfer switch, killed the power to the house and fired it up. It worked perfectly. In a weird way, I'm kind of looking forward to when the power goes out next!

Great nearly whole house generator in a portable, inexpensive and reliable package. The 440cc engine is not quiet! You can stand next to it without being in pain but could not carry on a conversation within 10ft of it. Louder than the neighbors Honda 6500 but not by much and this generator was almost 1/5 of the price. Propane is a nice option and for me it swaps back and forth with no problem. Run time is spot on with the specs. Runs 2-3000w-ish for about 8 hours on gas. 20lb propane about the same. Tank says 6.1 gallons on it and on the box and in the instruction manual, however only will take about 5 gallons of gas!? Electric start has always worked well, never had to pull start. Oil still looks new everytime I change it, which is once a year before winter. I have 150 hours on mine, runs like new.

Followed very detailed instructions on how to assemble and prep generator for first start. Started very easy on propane. I ran for the 5 hr break in period with no problems running at 50% load. I changed oil and serviced after the break in period for storage. So far so good with this generator.

Comments about Champion Power Equipment 6750/8400 Watt LPG/9375/7500 Watt Gasoline Dual Fuel Electric Start Generator:

I had been contemplating purchasing a standby or portable generator for some time. We live in a rural area of North Dakota and suffer some pretty wicked weather from time to time. That together with the current unrest in the world in general, spurred me into some serious research. I must confess I was initially looking at portables with engines from the two big Japanese manufacturers, as I have always relied on their excellent build quality but while I was looking at some of these models in a local hardware chain store, I saw the Champion brand on display. The price was very reasonable for the amount of features that this model has and the build quality appeared to be good. I came home and did some "research" online and found a lot of positive comments from a variety of sources. I do not usually buy high ticket items without getting feedback from actual operators but this seemed like a good opportunity.

I purchased the Model 100165 mostly because of the dual fueling option. The opportunity to utilize propane instead of gasoline is a big benefit. Propane is so much cleaner and has a greater shelf-life than gasoline.

This is a big unit! I had it loaded into my Tundra by 3 young guys at the store, so when I got it home, I had a bit of a wrestling match getting it out of the truck bed! This is not really a one man operation, so get help in moving the box it comes in. It was nicely packaged and all the parts were in good shape with nothing missing. Th only "assembly" involves bolting on the two wheels, the rear stabilizer bar and filling her up with oil.

I connected up a new 20 pound propane cylinder and she was running from the electric starter in just a few seconds. This is not a quiet generator. I will probably build a sound enclosure for when I run it close to the house but the unit is nice and sturdy and well balanced. I will eventually have a transfer switch installed on my utility pole but there is simply too much snow on the ground right now to fuss with that!

I feel confident that this unit will be a great addition to my resources and will enable us to run our heating system and basic amenities within the house, should we have a power failure. Thanks Champion..... this has proven to be a good choice.

It's got a lot of power and with that comes weight and noise. With that said, this unit runs on propane or gasoline with a flick of a switch for real. Plenty of power, runs most of the house with no problem. Easy to use but, heavy and loud so placement is key.

Comments about Champion Power Equipment 6750/8400 Watt LPG/9375/7500 Watt Gasoline Dual Fuel Electric Start Generator:

Where to start. Delivery: Early on the back order date. Trucker was courteous and helpful to the extreme. I'm 84 years old and could not have managed without his help. Generator: QUALITY everywhere from dual fuel to battery start. Setup is a snap even for me. Used the recoil a couple of jerks and then used the battery. Kicked right over. Instruction manual is thorough and a snap to follow. I'm almost anxious for the first power outage so I can use it. Couldn't be happier with the generator, the price and the dealer. All get my highest recommendations

Well packed, easily removed from packing. Very quick and easy to set up. Fired up right away. Like the versatility of using propane as well as gas. For brief outages, the propane allows use of the generator without having to subsequently remove gas and drain carburetor because the propane burns so clean.

This is my very first generator for our newly acquired home and we love it. My wife has no issues starting it with it's ease of use. Tons of juice in this generator that powers lights along with a major appliance. This generator has given my family a wonderful peace of mind when and if we lose power in the great Northwest. I am loving the dual fuel source technology, I will be definitely recommending this product.
