  So I have had two of these for a couple months now. I got them used off ebay not from GC. I was slightly skeptical when I looked into them, one because of the lack of any useful reviews and two because some people had told me a 21" woofer would create a rather "boomy" bass. regardless based on the specs I decided they were the best bang for my buck. I was right. First of the bass is not "boomy" I think some people say this because it lacks the punch. this is because you realistically can't cross it over higher than 90hz without distortion. that being said you need tops that can handle the 100hz kick range very well (the punch). I recommend the yamaha c115v tops, they match perfectly with a little eq the whole system sounds like my rokit6's at concert volume. The other thing you need to do to make sure they preform well is to add a high pass filter around 30-35hz. this will let them run more efficiently. The truth is that these are truly "sub" woofers and they do a fantastic job at producing sub frequencies and they do not do anything else. some people prefer smaller woofers like the ksub because they provide more "definition" and "tone", but I've found what most people think of as definition and tone are just the higher bass frequencies that can be handeled by your tops. So bottom line these subs are amazing. they have probably the best spl and definition in the sub bass range of any speaker in this price range. if you match them with a proper top you will probably end up with one of the best sounding systems in your city. lastly if you are comparing between the ksub and this (people do this in my city for some reason) this simply blows away the ksub, the only consideration between the two is weight. I'm even thinking of buying two more for some of my larger events. just remember that a good sounding system is flat across all frequencies and if you don't get tops that will keep up with these subs it will sound less than impressive. (eons will not keep up in a million years)I 100% recommend these! they blow away everything else in this price range.

  Purchased one of these subs w/2 CVA-28 tops and all I can say is WOW! The louder and harder you push them, the better they sound! I use them for a mobile DJ rig and I thought I'd need to hurry up & purchase a another CVA-121 & two more CVA-28 top boxes, but I was wrong. From small gigs (20-50 people) to med gigs (50-150 people), this set up rocks! Yeah, I will definitely purchase another CVA-121 & 2 more CVA-28 top boxes to complete my rig, but man, what I've got rocks!!! The amps stay cool and just keep a knockin; the bass keeps a pumpin and keeps the building rockin!! The sound is clean, not muddy, and the SPLs produced by this BEAST are ridiculous. I've been mobile DJ'ing since 1988 & have used everything from Peavey, EV, QSC, & even Klipsch loud speakers. I'm tellin you, you cannot go wrong with this sub!!! BIG BAD VEGA... Nuff said!

  I used just 1 of them and I was told to turn it down you could hear it on the street from inside the event, it is a quality sound and I was very happy with my purchase
