I purchased this amp in the begining of Oct. 2011
The reason being is I needed to get more power to my pair of Cerwin Vega Earthquakes. I was pumping 750 watts into each of them but they sorta sounded like you were slapping a paper bag instead of some good booming bass. I looked around for a while for a more powerfull amp(QSC,Crown,Peavey,ect....)But for the power I needed I just couldn't afford what they had to offer. I just happened to stumble across the CV 5000 amp and seen what this baby supposably puts out for power and the price and said wow! Now I can handle that! I went down to my local GC store and talked to my good buddy Greg. A sound technician who I've been dealing with and have trusted for a few years now. After he investigated this CV 5000 for a while he came to the conclusion that this unit would be as good if not better than the QSC 5050. Which is double the price of the CV 5000 I remind you. I've been using this amp just about every night since I got it. Running some of the lower end Keys, The Bass Guitar, and of course all the Drums. We can't even turn the sliders up on the board more than a quater of the way because the chest pounding thump is blowing you away! Don't let anyone in the club who might be wearing a pacemaker. When Cerwin Vega said that this amp was a perfect match for the Earthquakes, They weren't lying. For inside a medium size club this set up is perfect for the low end. I wish I had another set of the Earthquakes for some of the outdoor festivals that we do. If I did we wouldn't need any more power. This amp cranks. One thing I also noticed is that at the end of every show, before I shut the amp down, the fans are always blowing nice cool air out the front. This thing dosen't even get hot. I know I'm long winded but I'am so impressed by this amp that I would truly recommend it to anyone. A TON of CLEAN POWER for not a TON of money. I hope this review helps everyone looking to purchase the CV 5000! It is more than worth the money. Rock On
