Still breaking it in but great so far.

By Mark Sinkhorn

Comments about Celestion Tube 10 30W, 10" Guitar Speaker:

I've had this speaker installed for about a week and I'm still breaking it in but I'm really pleased so far. I bought this to upgrade the stock speaker in my Crate V5 after reading the review from another V5 user. The open-back V5 isn't very deep and the speaker is really crammed in the cabinet so clearance also was an issue. The Tube 30 fit perfectly. I'm not sure who makes the original speaker for Crate but I think the Tube 30 is waayy better. Even though it hasn't completely broken in, the tone is smooth with out the harshness I hated with the original Crate speaker. Plus it looks really cool. For quality and reliability, I can't imagine any speaker maker with a better track record than Celestion. I also read a really bad review from another purchaser who must hate this speaker. Not sure what he's hearing, or not hearing, that is unpleasant. Since he bought 4, he may have been replacing speakers in a sealed 4-10 cab. I agree, some speakers just don't sound right in a sealed enclosure. Maybe that's what is going on there. For me, this has been a great upgrade for my open-back Crate.

This is the same speaker that vox put in its AC4TV, Its not a bad little speaker, but it can be very muddy at times.

Fine Speakers

By Ed

from Rochester NY

Comments about Celestion Tube 10 30W, 10" Guitar Speaker:

I bought this to replace the stock speaker in a Crate V5. Works perfectly, very balanced tone from the speakers and with only 5 watts pushing it there simply is no speaker distortion. While speaker distortion can be pleasing, I'll admit; I was looking for something to translate the sound without adding anything, and this fit the bill perfectly. The G10 Vintage will probably be somewhat better, especially in other applications, but for me, this does just fine at half the price. As a side note, nothing muddy about this speaker, its clear as a bell, and well constructed. Also, its quite small depth wise so it will likely fit most cabinets out there
