One of the most recognizable names in the world of heavy metal guitar, George Lynch has recorded more than twenty albums, and is famous for his accomplished and inventive guitar playing. In 2010, George challenged Celestion to build his dream guitar loudspeaker. He wanted a new style of speaker, blending world-renowned Celestion vintage tonality with the capability of providing, on demand, a harder-edged and more modern sound.
Tonally, the G12-50GL Lynchback incorporates the kind of detail and harmonic complexity found in vintage models of the late 1960s, combined with increased headroom, and the attitude, aggression and mid-band character of some of the more modern Celestion speakers. The result is an ideal balance between a detailed vintage warmth that makes your lead sound sing, and an up-front attitude that delivers punchier rhythm tones capable of cutting through the mix.

Comments about Celestion G12-50GL Lynchback George Lynch Signature Guitar Speaker 8 Ohm:
Don't be persuaded one way or another that this is a "George Lynch" speaker. It doesn't just do hair metal and quite the opposite. It is a premium Celestion just like a greenback but better where it needs to be for a bit higher power,..Many speakers sound great to the ear but when miked sound too strident and thin or too hard live. At first the Lynchback seems a bit dark, but up against a microphone it is great and works excellent. Replaced a Vtype and a V30. Although I love my V30,I think this speaker does everything the V30 does but without that certain fizz frequency. That frequency does work to make a lot of things up front and bright but this speaker doesn't have any spikes and is very smooth. Great for clean sounds and hard sounds. I have GT65,WGS65,T-75's V30 Vtype,Cannibus rex,Fane and I like this speaker more than all of them. I play through Engle 656 Morse and Marshall 2204 as well as Digitech 1101 modeller /w/ Velocity power Playing everything from Johnny cash to Pantera and this speaker does it all for me. Don't listen to anyone that says this speaker is harsh or bright,it is not at all. Actually kind of dark till you get it ripping and then instead of cutting your head off it really opens up nice. Best Celestion formula I've heard like a better smoother tighter low end greenback.
