Go for the gold.

Following tremendous feedback received for the Gold 12", Celestion realized there was also a need for a guitar speaker that conveyed the Alnico mellowness of the original Blue, with the speed and response of a 10" driver.

The 40W Celestion G10 Alnico Gold guitar speaker is the ultimate 10" speaker, blending unmistakable Alnico class with a rich low-end, creamy midrange and vintage chiming top-end. Springy, warm, revealing, and highly expressive, the 40W Celestion speaker can be used singly or in pairs to add a classy sheen to any amp, or in a 4x10 configuration for higher volume depth, warmth and shimmer, with less of the boom associated with 4x12 cabinets.

Celestion are renowned for high quality loudspeakers, used on stage and in clubs, theaters and other venues the world over. From early radio loudspeakers to complex sound reinforcement systems, Celestion speakers have helped to shape the history of sound reproduction.

Since the company's birth in 1924, Celestion has paid meticulous attention to every product detail, combining innovative ideas with skillful craftsmanship.

Today, Celestion continues to manufacture loudspeakers and components for many different applications. Incorporating both modern and traditional technology, the company incorporates years of experience into advancing the future of loudspeaker design with great success.

  • Celestion G10 Alnico Gold Speakers

As reviewed by Gregg Nickens on 3/28/2012

I oredered a pair of these 10"s for my 1994 Fender '63 Vibroverb Reissue amplifier. The reproduction Oxford speakers that came with the amp were in excellent condition and sounded like what good Fender speakers should sound like. For one, I don't run this amp hot or flat out a majority of the time. I believe this is why many other reviewers on the web think that Oxfords are crap, because they've had Oxfords that are truly worn out. Now back to the Celestion G10 Golds. All the chime that you get from Celestion blue speakers from which these speakers are based upon is there to be had. The frequency range is excellent as these speakers cover 80 Hz to 6000 Hz, the lows to highs are well balanced such that no frequencies jump out at you or conversely leave a scooped feel. I could instantly hear the frequencies that the Oxfords were lacking in. These speakers have ballz for alnico speakers, but then again they're rated at 40 watts per/speaker. Also, most new speakers I've ever tried have a break in period that one needs to be patient through before forming an opinion. One such speaker is Tone Tubby speakers. I have a Tone tubby alnico 12 in a '66 Fender BFDR, and (2) Tone Tubby alnico 10"s and (2) Tone Tubby ceramic 10"s in a "X" pattern in my '66 Fender BFSR amp. If I wasn't patient I would have done away with these speakers a long tiime ago because they DIDN't sound that great out of the box. I am very pleased with the way this amp turned out. Another upgrade I performed was installing Groove Tube 12AX7M (Mullards) and Reissue Tung Sol 5881 power pentodes. Believe it or not, the maximum plate voltage handling of the Tung Sol 5881's are listed as +400 Volts, and this amp puts out an average of +423 Volts on the plates and the Tung Sol 5881's have yet to "red plate" on me. This combination of tubes and speakers are a truly stellar combination.
