Comments about Casio WK-3800 76-Key Digital Keyboard Workstation:

I'm an older musician, use to playing a Hammond B3. I took a break from playing out but recently put a 4 piece rock band together. Bought this unit because I was impressed with the quality of sound for the $$. After working with the drawbars, channeling and modulation wheel I've got it to sound real close to that B3 & Leslie sound. Used it in rehearsal but didn't realize til we actually played a gig last night. It's awesome! I couldn't believe my ears. Only drawback I see is the keys started to click after the short time I've owned it. A great keyboard for a great price!

Comments about Casio WK-3800 76-Key Digital Keyboard Workstation:

The hardest thing about this keyboard is getting over the name on the back. I am using it as a dedicated organ, and having a blast with the drawbar settings. I run it through a Boss RT-20 rotory sim, and it never fails to amaze. I have played Hammond B3, as well as other clones, and let me tell you, Casio has done a wonderful thing. They actually get it!! I don't want static patches, give me the tone wheel sim, some drawbars to tweak, 2nd and 3rd percussion, and let me be a real organ player. Thank you Casio, this is my 20 lb. clone till it wears out, then I'll get another one!!!

Comments about Casio WK-3800 76-Key Digital Keyboard Workstation:

I got the 3300 model as dumb luck. Someone was throwing it away so I took it in and was going to in turn give it away because I have a recording studio with tons of pro gear. One day I used it on a live session as a joke and was super surprised. It played like a dream with super action. Many sounds were good to excellent with some too biting with too much emphasis in the upper mids. Some inconsistency in the preset volumes makes switching sounds slightly problematic. The drum beats are exceptional and easy to use. My worst criticism is no individual outs for the rhythm and the synthesizer and no way to externally synchronize the clock to an external source or vice-versa. I've tried with a USB to MIDI cable but a lack of a MIDI driver via a computer makes it impossible. All in all I have made dozens of recordings with it and have played live with it on several occasions. It is a gem that I have found I can't live without which lives alongside my very expensive high-end synths.

The 3800

By Waterloo

Comments about Casio WK-3800 76-Key Digital Keyboard Workstation:

The 3800 delivers a powerful punch in sheer size and features. 76 full size keys, independent modualation and adjustable pitch bend. (Up to one Octave) Although I have not noticed a difference in sound quality, the 3800 is a good deal for the playability and portabiltiy. Ideally the economy synthersizer.

Comments about Casio WK-3800 76-Key Digital Keyboard Workstation:

first off the keyboard is amazing! it's everything I expected it to be with the exception of the learning curve of learning how to record songs or use the synth function, but all in all the keyboard is 5/5*'s for sure, sounds amazing (especially the 2-way bass reflex speakers)

I WANT IT :( :(

Comments about Casio WK-3800 76-Key Digital Keyboard Workstation:

For My Birthday I recieved about 300 dollars. I was interested in buying a keyboard so I started browsing online. I was originally going to buy the Casio 900 Series. It costed too much So I was going to go with the 800 series. When I entered the music store I saw the two keyboards and Below it there was The Workstation. There mere look (Without even trying it) Made me rethink my keyboard choice. After experimenting with the workstation I was Sold. I used 1 of the 800+ tones and Was Blown away. Unfortunately It was priced at 450$. So.. I put down 300 dollars and I have it on lay-away until I make up the extra 150$ I would recommend this to anybody serious about music.

Hammond B3 w/Leslie & 60's Electric Piano Sound

By Mike Hall

from Puyallup, WA

Comments about Casio WK-3800 76-Key Digital Keyboard Workstation:

I was sold on the value this keyboard offers. You can actually edit the sounds but it's limited. You have to go into Synth mode and alter Attack, Sustain, Delay, Release cut off and resonance frequencies and key sensitivity. This does provide a more dramatic alteration of the sounds than you might think. It's plenty of editing for anything I've needed. I played live through two 3oo watt keyboard amps in stereo and the sounds Rock. I played Doors - Light My Fire, Procol Harem's Whiter Shade of Pale, Spencer Davis - Give Me Some Lovin', Sugarloaf's - Green Eyed Lady, Supertramp - Electric Piano sounds. I was able to match every sound I needed and save the setups in the Banks. If you hook up a Yamaha AG - EZ electronic guitar, you can even get a different instrument for each string. Very useful for Beatles Orchestrations on Strawberry Fields and I Am a Walrus. Also, it's rugged and light to pack and completely portable with built in speakers if you don't have keyboard amps. I rate it a 10 because Roland keyboard with their 64 bit super high quality sounds are overkill and a real bear to manipulate. This workstation is easy to learn. Also, you can download other peoples setups from the Casio web-site if you want to increase your library. The SD storage works fine to save entire genre setups if you want to completely change to board based on the styly or type of music you are gigging. No better value for the money and quality of sound. You can make money with this rig.

Cool Keyboard!

By keyboardman

from Syracuse, NY

Comments about Casio WK-3800 76-Key Digital Keyboard Workstation:

The Casio WK-3800 is really cool. It has around 600 tones. What I really like is the pitch bend. Its a little knob where you move it up, the pitch goes up. If you move it down, the pitch goes down.
