Overview

With its expressive timbre, the PRIVIA PX-760 offers piano purists a selection of sounds that are remarkably close to an acoustic instrument. The integrated triple pedal unit with damper resonance focuses on pure piano sounds, producing an incredibly refined sound quality. The new Concert-PlayƓ function is also integrated into the PX-760. With 10 orchestral pieces for piano, piano parts can be practiced and played, with tempos that can be changed.

The quality cabinet, integrated stand, keyboard cover and three-pedal system ensure the PX-760 will look good in any room. The all -new Tri-Sensor Scaled Hammer Action Keyboard II and Multi-Dimensional Morphing AiR Sound Source ensure a piano experience that is truly stunning.

Multi-dimensional Morphing AiR Sound Source
The characteristics of CASIO' newly developed Multi-dimensional Morphing AiR* Sound Source reflect thorough attention to detail in expressing the rich, resonating tones inherent to the piano. The capacity of the installed memory has been expanded to achieve a longer sampling duration and enhanced waveform data quality. The temporal changes in tone that create sound you would expect only from a piano, beginning with the initial sound and leading into a beautiful extension until the sound eventually vanishes, are reproduced naturally.

Tri-sensor Scaled Hammer Action Keyboard II
The difference between the sound structures of a grand piano and a digital piano appears as a difference in timing, from the moment the instrument is played until the sound is audible. The new Tri-sensor Scaled Hammer Action Keyboard II responds by incorporating a system with three sensors that detect touches of the keys sequentially.

Simulated Ebony and Ivory Keys
The Simulated ebony and ivory keys offers the luxurious feel and texture as well as the smooth touch of a grand piano keyboard. The minutely detailed crimp surface finish inhibits finger slippage due to sweat and gives the sensation of a perfect fingertip fit, even when playing for extended periods.

Comments about Casio Privia PX-760 Digital Console Piano:

Great console keyboard that had everything you need! I looked forward to updating my home lesson studio with a formidable and quality instrument. I have always leaned for Yamaha but this one is a great competitor to similar styles of the console variety. And I got a great price match deal for whole package (check online)!!!

Comments about Casio Privia PX-760 Digital Console Piano:

I believe Casio has the best key feel and action on a digital piano in the sub-$1000 range. The piano sample sounds are very good, though not notably better than that of the competition from Yamaha, Korg, or Kawai; they're all good in this price niche. This Casio model has the stand and full pedal unit, which the next Previa model down, the portable PX-160, does not. The stand is pretty solid. The music desk is not so solid, but certainly OK for sheet music.

The only problem with this unit is that it just doesn't play as loudly as an acoustic piano when one really leans into it. That's the "forte" part of "piano forte", and it's not really optional. The weakness is most obvious in the bass. And adding an external amp and speakers is no easy task, as - incredibly - there are no LINE OUT connections. I almost returned the whole thing when I discovered that. Seriously, Casio - join the 21st century, already. Cobbling up some external amplification via the headphone jack has not proven satisfactory; any way I tried it (that is, until I ran out of patience) sounded wretched. The portable version, the PX-160, has line outs; the next model up, the PX-860, has fancier speakers and beefier amps and plays slightly louder, albeit at a hefty 40% boost in price. For the extra money for the 860, you also get the "PRIVIA" badge in chrome letters rather than white paint, an extra digital doodad or two, and a little lid you can prop open - which makes some sense on an acoustic piano, as the lid covers the strings, but on a digital with the speakers on the bottom? Huh?

So, the 760 is a pretty nice piano at an aggressive price, though the dinky 4.7" speakers and feeble 8 watt amplifiers don't do the rest of the instrument full justice.

Also, two thumbs up to Guitar Center. When this went on sale elsewhere after I bought it, Guitar Center matched the price and gave me a substantial refund - woo-hoo!

Comments about Casio Privia PX-760 Digital Console Piano:

I run a recording studio that uses software based samples instead of an acoustic piano, my keyboard was state of the art for natural feel, but have had less then glowing comments lately. Heard glowing reviews of the Casio previa feel, so ordered one and so far like it very much, easy to assemble, looks great & seems to trigger the samples just fine! It does seem a little limited as far as connections, only 1 USB out, no line out, no midi out, though I can use one of the headphone outs I suppose if I need to.
