Overview

From live performances, to composing sessions and music classes, these feature-packed HIGH-GRADE KEYBOARD models do it all. High tone quality, a wide selection of tones and rhythms that suit musical genres from around the globe, and powerful features and functions make these keyboards able to meet just about any music need imaginable.

Song Sequencer
The Song Sequencer provides 16 tracks plus one system track that supports recording of up to five songs and a total of approximately 12,000 notes. Each individual musical instrument part can be recorded to a different track for real multi-track recording capabilities. A full selection of editing tools include event insert, event delete, event copy, quantize, a locator feature for selecting the range of notes to be edited, and more. A step recording function also lets you input notes by specifying the length and pitch. Completed recordings can be converted to SMF (Standard MIDI File) format and stored to an SD memory card.

32-channel Mixer
Button operation can be used for individual simultaneous adjustment of volume, pan, reverb send, and other parameters.

Rhythm Editor
Rhythm Editor lets you combine instrument parts from multiple built-in rhythms, turn individual instrument parts on or off, and adjust volume, pan, reverb, and other parameters to create your own original rhythms. You can even create original rhythms for NORMAL, FILL IN, INTRO, and ENDING accompaniment patterns. You can store up to 10 original rhythms in memory for instant recall whenever you need them.

Multiple Digital Effects
Built-in effects include reverb (10 types), chorus (5 types), and DSP (100 types using 46 effect types including delay, phaser, flanger, wah, rotary, and more). You can apply different effects to a tone to create exactly the sound you want. By adjusting the parameters of the DSP effect types, you can create original DSP effects and store up to 100 original types in memory for later recall.
* DSP and chorus cannot be used simultaneously.

Equalizer
Incorporates five selectable frequency characteristics, including "Bright" for a lively sound emphasizing the treble range and "Powerful" with a stress on volume.

Registration
A simple operation saves the current setup, including tone, rhythm, and other settings for instant recall when you need them. * You even can save tones to which effector effects are being applied. Recalling a registration instantly changes the digital keyboard's setup, making this a great tool for live stage performances. * CTK-6200: 4 sets x 8 banks for 32 setups

Tone Editor
Tone Editor can be used to adjust attack time, release time, cut off, vibrato, reverb, chorus, DSP, and other parameters as desired. You can create distinctively original tones for performances and music creation sessions.

Arpeggiator
With the arpeggiator, you can play various arpeggios and other phrases automatically by simply pressing keys on the keyboard. You can select from 150 different arpeggiato types, including playing arpeggios from a fingered chord, guitar phrases, and more.

SD Memory Card Slot
Song sequencer, tone editor, and other data can be saved to an SD or SDHC memory card. SMF (Standard MIDI File) data stored on an SD or SDHC memory card can be played back on the digital keyboard.

Input/Output Terminals
Different input/output terminals are provided to meet a variety of different needs: an audio in terminal (AUDIO IN) for audio device input that can be output through the speakers, and more. line out terminals (L/MONO, R) for connection of the mixer of a stage PA system or other devices.

USB Port
The USB port provides easy computer and MIDI send/receive connection. It also enables quick and simple transfer of song sequencer, pattern sequencer, tone editor and other data, as well as audio data recorded to an SD memory card from an audio device between the digital keyboard and a computer. Download of a special Data Manager 6.1 application is required in order to transfer data to a computer. *
* Data Manager 6.1 download site:

AHL Sound Source
The sound source is pre-programmed with digital samples of acoustic musical instruments recorded using the most advanced digital technology. Thanks to CASIO original sound technology, the AHL sound source is capable of reproducing all of the natural smoothness of the original waveform.

700 Built-in Tones and 10 User Tones
The AHL sound source delivers a lineup of 700 different built-in tones. You also can store up to 10 of your own original tones for instant recall whenever you need them.

210 Preset Rhythms and Auto Accompaniment
A total of 210 preset rhythms cover a wide range of musical genres, from rock and pops, to jazz, Latin, piano pieces, and more. Simply select the built-in rhythm you want and Auto Accompaniment provides you with backup that is the next best thing to having a professional band at your disposal.

Large Dial
A large operation dial really comes in handy during music creation using sequencer functions and mixer functions.
Display

The display shows the currently selected tone name and rhythm name, along with a wealth of other information. On the sequencer screen, for example, you can check the current status and volume level of each of the 16 tracks, and other setting information at a glance.

Piano-Style Keyboard and Touch Response
The keyboard is designed and engineered to provide a realistic piano experience. Just like a grand piano keyboard, Touch Response causes sound that is output to change in accordance with the amount of pressure applied to the keys.

High-output 2-Way Bass Reflex Speakers
A 7W+7W high-output bass reflex 2-way 4-speaker system delivers rich sound from low range to high. The speakers can be used as high-quality monitoring speakers during performances and music creation sessions.

Pitch Bend Wheel
The pitch bender wheel makes it easy to add realistic sounding guitar choking, sax bending, and other effects to keyboard play.

Music Presets
Music presets provide one-touch access to Auto Accompaniment, tone, reverb, and other settings that are configured in accordance with representative chord progressions. A total of 305 presets let you easily configure the keyboard for a wide variety of different musical styles. In addition to built-in presets, you can create your own original presets (user presets) and store them in memory for later recall.

Comments about Casio CTK-6250 61 Keys Portable Keyboard:

I'm a multi instrumentalist in a number of groups and needed a keyboard that could suit the needs of all the different types of music that I play. Trying to find GOOD video reviews of this keyboard was very difficult and I probably spent the better half of my whole day watching 20 different videos in varying languages. The sounds were convincing enough to make me want to try it out and, fortunately, I was not disappointed. I was ultimately looking for something that would have passable/realistic electric piano sounds (Rhodes/Wurlitzer) as well as a basic clean click organ sound. I run my keyboards through guitar pedals and this thing doesn't create any strange distortions (especially since you can turn that reverb right off!) The line level out and midi out makes this great and easy to use for recording. The acoustic piano sounds can be a little bright at times but in absolutely NO WAY are they unusable. If anything, the speakers make the acoustic piano settings sound bright and borderline fake, but when you plug headphones into it or out to some sort of amplification, any doubt is erased immediately. For the amount of sounds you get (700!), there's bound to be some clunkers here or there but there's always an application, even for the odd ones. The action isn't like synth keys or weighted keys, its relatively spongey and very different from anything I'm used to playing (almost like a Rhodes Miracle Mod), but it's REALLY comfortable to play. The key spacing is friendly for those with large fingers like myself. The power supply it comes with is one of those were the plug isn't mounted directly into the transformer box so you can fit it well into a crowded power strip. I really can't say anything bad about this keyboard! Casio has come a LONG way.

Comments about Casio CTK-6250 61 Keys Portable Keyboard:

I've had a Casio along these same "lines" for 20 years or more, starting with a 73 key WK-1250 in the 90's. When I lost that in a flood I replaced it with a Wk-200- 76 keys then and able to record a half dozen songs on 6 tracks instead of just two. Now this version. I hoped the voices would be improved- it sounded so on youtube- but they are really about the same in the same order with little variance. The jog wheel and voice groups is a vast improvement in getting them called up though. The extra processing features makes up for a lot of that though- the extra thick choruses and reverbs are wonderful, and my initial apprehension about how to use and apply the DSP effects disappeared when I soon got the hang of it. It's a world of possibilities applying all those effects to all those voices! And the ability to store your altered tones in the user section is a great feature- you'll want to get batteries to keep that going when the AC adapter is unplugged. Smaller batteries would be nice- I don't intend to use the unit on batteries otherwise- just store the data. Anyway- between the basic synth sounds in their own section, and the effects you can apply, this unit really starts to approach a real synthesizer in capabilities, so that's a nice situation on a relatively inexpensive unit that's great for casual home play and recording. As I still have the WK200 with 76 keys, I opted for this 61 key unit and lower price. Several days later, I'm thinking I should have gone to the 76 key configuration- although I LOVE this red color- only in this size, and then just resold my old board. The bottom line is that it's still basically the same platform as the first WK-1250, but with so much more. I'm glad I had previous experience though, because the printed directions are hard to understand. Most users may never explore the full potential of this board, but it works fine for those who only want to dial up a lot of voices easily.

Comments about Casio CTK-6250 61 Keys Portable Keyboard:

I have a couple more expensive boards but I needed one that I could take to Open Mic performances that if it was damaged I would be out a lot of money. Read good reviews on the Casio CTK 6250 and decided to try it. I used it on stage for the first time on St Patricks day. With the back lit screen, easy to transpose, layer and split it did exactly what I wanted it to do. Some of the sounds are not the greatest but for the purpose of adding some keyboard to a rock/blues type band, they are adequate. ( I also like the fact that it has built in speakers and can run on batteries if I need it to do so.)

Comments about Casio CTK-6250 61 Keys Portable Keyboard:

Re-learning piano/keyboard after 50 year layoff. My old keyboard died and I wanted to replace it with something a little above basic. I am awed by the sounds, tones, key responses, accompaniment that comes with this for less than a couple hundred dollars. It seems well made, heavy enough with keys that don't click (yet). I've already had fun with the chord accompaniment and cool rhythms. I can't wait to split the keyboard and add layering of more voices. Later today, I'll try controlling it with another MIDI device to see if we can add even another layer of voices. I'm also planning to add a couple of monitor speakers to get a more full bottom end. I may update this review as I learn more or I'll create a new review.
