I am an opera singer, and was looking for an affordable portable keyboard I could travel with. The Casio SA-76 is bigger than ideal (ideal would be 12-18 inches in length), but the price was right. Delivery was very quick, the keyboard was well packed and arrived in excellent condition. There is no AC cord included, and it really must be used with batteries. A google search for the proper sort of AC cord was not very reassuring. However, I can use batteries and that is fine. The sound is good and it does meet my needs. One problem is that the ON button is easily tripped, so I must be careful where and how it is transported (take out batteries).
i play the guitar and you know how they have a travel guitar. well this is my travel keyboard. its great for traveling. for you people out there who cant stand going even a day without playing an instrument this is great. i went on a 16 hour flight and was constantly just itching to play some type of music so i pulled this out of my bag, (thats how portable it is) plugged in my headphones, and played. it was great. i went to Italy and was constantly riding in the car and the same thing i just plugged in my headphones and played it. this keyboard also has nice features. especially for its price. i've had this for a month now and its stills works like new and looks like new. i would definitely recommend this to everyone!!!
This portable keyboard has been perfect to spark our 7-yr-old's creativity. I would not recommend this for a child to learn to play the piano on this because it can be difficult to adjust to regular size keys later on, but we have an acoustic piano that she has already been learning on, so this was not an issue for us. She has been making up her own melodies to the different pre-recorded songs and rhythms. In the pre-recorded song bank it has an option to have the melody turned on or off. So you can listen to the song with the melody, then hit melody off and hear the song without the melody and try to play the melody yourself, training your ear. The display is great: it has the grand staff and shows the notes that are being played on the staff, as they would appear on sheet music. It also has a little metronome which gives a visual but not an audible click. The possibilities are endless on this little keyboard! One important thing to note is that the ac adapter is not included, and it was out of stock when we ordered the keyboard. So we have been using 6 AA rechargables which have not died yet after 3 days of almost continual play. The board does power off after a while of non-use, which is helpful.
