Featuring fresh grand piano samples and an "ivory touch," tri-sensor, 88-note, scaled hammer action keyboard, the dynamic sound and appearance of the Privia PX-830 console piano makes a perfect addition to any home.
Realism, expression, and dynamics: The grand piano sounds in the Casio PX-830 piano deliver an extraordinary level of realism and expression. Four dynamic layers of stereo piano samples are integrated with Casio's proprietary Linear Morphing System, resulting in a grand piano sound with seamless transitions and a superior dynamic range. For added realism, the Casio Privia digital piano simulates the sound of the open strings when the dampers are raised by the pedal using the Acoustic Resonance DSP feature. The Casio PX-830 also has 128-note polyphony, enough horsepower for the most demanding musical passages, and the ability to layer sounds and use the damper pedal without the worry of dropped notes. Reinforced by a dual, 20W speaker system, the result is a stellar grand piano experience at an affordable price.
Truly expressive touch: The Casio Privia PX-830 features an "ivory touch," tri-sensor, 88-note, scaled hammer action keyboard. Casio's superior engineering has resulted in an authentic piano touch that captures every detail and nuance of your performance. This piano is without a doubt a perfect investment to any home! I live in a town house with very little room for an actual piano so this was the best option. This piano is exactly as advertised. I was in the market for a digital piano - when I first started searching I decided on the William Overture piano (purchased online - store pickup) which was in my price range - however, I got to the store (Guitar Center) and decided to play around on all other piano's they had there and let me first say that the Overture piano was not worth it as far as I was concerned (I won't review that product here) but I say after paying the difference for this piano - I hold not regrets! I taught myself the piano about 20 years ago and for the past 6 years was practicing on a digital keyboard and was in the market for something a little more professional and I found it here with this PX-830 - the keyboard worked for learning songs/notes but for a real piano player - one looks for the next best thing! After playing around with 6 different brands - finally decided on this product - it is perfect for my home - the keys and sound of this piano are pretty darn close to the real thing - sometimes I don't even notice a different from a real upright/grand piano - plus all the other wonderful features it has to offer - IE: 2 Headphone jacks - SD card reader (for midi files & songs you can record yourself and save) - the realistic foot pedals + the style of wood used to make this product! As far as I am concerned this was a great investment for a person always on the go and living in restricted spaces - I do feel the price was just about perfect for the level of quality of this product and is worth the purchase for anyone learning, practicing, or just playing around on a piano (serious or not) - this piano also has the ability to connect to a PC for further learning/practicing with the right software! As previously stated - the feel and touch of this piano seems just as any real upright piano - weighed keys are a great touch (any piano player would notice a difference on a keyboard style) and for me this was what had me sold on this product - it feels as if I am sitting and playing a grand piano and the fact that I can play without disturbing others is awesome yet this piano is still much easier to move if needed than an actual piano! With that being said, this is a digital piano - you can hear/feel a difference between the two but regardless - still a perfect buy! The installation part was a little bit of a project though - the assembly instructions are located in the middle of the guide and it does takes about an hour to assembly but totally worth it after all said and done! After all this is a digital piano - it has way more features that I needed but for those who take advantage of - great! This is a very strudy piano structure once assembled and of course I love the fact that it comes with a vinyl cover when not in use! :) I recommend this product to anyone in the market for it - I didn't need the best but I didn't want the worst either and I feel that if I had gone with the other one intially picked out then I wouldn't have been as happy as I am with this one plus the staff at Guitar Center were amazing with everything! I would give this 10 stars if possible!! Totally worth every penny! :)
I just got this piano and i needed a small/slim line piano for my small apartment that I share with a hubby and 3 kids. I am a musician and have taught piano (before having my own kids)...so, I could not sacrifice on quality. Having a real-feel piano was a must! I also love a great looking piano too. This one fit the requirements perfectly. I love having it in my home. I plan on teaching my kids to play using this piano...and maybe get back into teaching piano classes as well.
Here are the specifics of "what I like" about this casio Privia PX830:
*wonderful feel to the weighted keys
*realistic touch (keys don't feel hollow like a keyboard/synth)
*sound quality imitates an accoustic sound very well
*easy to use manual telling me how to use each feature (I reach for it often to learn how to get full use of my piano)
*classical piano book that comes with it has a ton of great pieces in it that I played in highschool and college
*very sturdy pedals, metal, not plastic...great response
*love that I can use headphones with it...and that it has dual jack for 2 people to use during a lesson if needed...I play as loud as I want with my headphones on after the kids have gone to sleep and hubby is watching a show
*the cabinet is very nice. it is a black woodgrain finish. all cabinets are MDF, but not all are created equal! this one is nice and matches the various woodtones going on in my apartment (cherry, mahogany, black painted furniture, beech/light wood in the kitchen nearby, etc. It does not look like cheap MDF and seems very sturdy...esp with 3 kids around.
OVERALL, I really like this piano. It had a lot to offer for it's price range...it fit the bill for me in all respects.
Guitar center offers a wonderful customer care protection plan...buy it! it puts me at ease knowing I am covered.
