Unbelievably rich sound and ultra-quiet operation are the strengths of this quality pedal. Also, it functions essentially as 2 pedals, with 2 identical but independent sets of speed and depth controls, each with its own LED that flashes according to speed setting. A Select switch lets you change settings mid song.

I was spoiled early on with the super stereo separation from the choruses on board the lovely old ADA MP-1 guitar preamp and the old Gallien-Krueger 250rl and 2000cpl. Sounded so great on cleans and high gain to have that wide separation that gave a sort of "double tracked" feel in a live setting. I'm an 80's guy so stereo guitar set ups are still great to me... I've been on the hunt for that sort of chorus but could never quite find it. Well, the Carl Martin Chorus XII delivers... a huge stereo separation, very dark and rich sounding. Sounds excellent with my ISP Theta Preamp either on cleans or high gain sounds. Set up: guitar> ISP Theta Preamp> Line out to an ADA GCS-2 cab sim> Carl Martin XII> Lexicon MPX-1 for delays and reverbs. It's awesome. Records very well and is very full and musical sounding... no harsh high end. I've waited years to find that sound in a box and the CMXII is finally it. Very happy with this purchase.
