This book does not teach you how to play guitar. It teaches you how to identify all of the notes in a particular chord. This allows you to play your own personal unique sound for any given chord. If you are a weekend guitarist, there are other easier books to help you find the "one common way to play C Major". But this book shows you all 100+ ways to play C major--and just about every other chord you'll need. Plus it shows you how to construct chords.
