Bad Sound

By MadMatt-pv9wX

from Cincinnati, OH

Comments about Cakewalk MA-7A Stereo Micro Monitor Pair:

I experienced the same problem with the bass boost. Every time it was on it was buzzy and cracked. It even did it while it was off sometimes, like when the note D (or a harmony of it) was played. It also gave off buzzing sounds when plugged in. Wouldn't recommend.

Good Monitors for Cheap

By FSE

from Albany, NY

Comments about Cakewalk MA-7A Stereo Micro Monitor Pair:

These small monitors are not bad for their price. Actually I think you will find it very difficult to find something as good for $100. Its a great replacement for computer speakers, but if you want monitors for serious audio work I would suggest investing a little more money and getting something better than this. However, if price is an issue, you might want to compare this to an Alesis M1 320, or a M-Audio Studio Pro 3.

Bass boost is terrible.

By Black Bart

from Boston

Comments about Cakewalk MA-7A Stereo Micro Monitor Pair:

Monitors are pretty good if you have a dedicated subwoofer to go with it. Otherwise, the bass boost function is absolutely horrible. The bass boost function is on by default whenever it is first turned on, and unless the volume is all the way off, a very unpleasant buzz will accompany turning it on. The Monitors also give off a faint buzz when turned off, but still connected to a power source. I would not recommend these monitors.
