A versatile pair of desktop studio monitors with pristine sound.

The Cakewalk MA-15D Digital Stereo Monitors are ideal for a number of professional and consumer uses. They are great options as studio reference monitors or as a second set of monitor speakers to use in a surround sound configuration. The MA-15D's offer a wide-range spectrum and crystal-clear audio reproduction. The MA-15Ds feature a built-in Bass Enhancer, which operates on psycho acoustic principles that converts low frequencies into a series of overtones the human ear cannot distinguish from the original low frequencies. This allows the listener to perceive bass frequencies outside of the normal range of the speaker cone, without overdriving the woofer. With the Bass Enhancer the MA-15Ds offer a strong low-end in a very compact set of reference speakers. In addition these Cakewalk studio monitors offer a Sub-Out port, to connect a sub woofer. The MA-15Ds accept input from digital sources through either the coaxial or optical S/PDIF ports, supporting up to 24-bit/192kHz sources. With this, you can connect digital sources directly to your speakers, keeping an unadulterated audio signal all the way to the power amplifier in your speakers. Hear exactly what you have recorded! The Cakewalk MA-15Ds offer conveniently placed Volume and Tone controls. While a large studio setup typically uses a mixer to control output level to the speakers, compact desktop setups can rarely afford the space a mixer requires. This is not an issue with the MA-15Ds, as you can adjust your output volume and tone right on the front of the speaker. You can also connect two different sources directly into the monitors, allowing you to listen to audio from any two line-level sources. You can have both your computer and your stereo connected to the MA-15Ds, for example. These studio monitors offer independent volume control for each of these inputs, effectively taking the place of a small desktop mixer for monitoring. You can also plug headphones directly into the MA-15Ds and mix without disturbing other people. Plugging in headphones automatically defeats the speakers, allowing you to mix without disturbing others, and without having to disconnect anything in your setup. The Cakewalk monitor speakers are also magnetically shielded for use in close proximity to your computer monitor without interference.

  • Awesome Little Speakers

As reviewed by MDDY on 5/14/2010

Good and loud and very clear. Move the air nicely for smaller desk top speakers. I was amazed with the sound quality for the price. Stick the little rubber feet on em they are pretty light. My go to speakers for busy light work. Well worth it. Half the price of the JBL's and sound as good with more functionality.

  • Beats Expectations

As reviewed by Waldo on 1/12/2010

PROS: -Very sturdy -Crisp Sound -Good range, bass is very well done -Relatively loud -Absolutely no interference from my computer or cell phone -Clean of unwanted audible artifacts (if that makes sense...no pops or static/fuzz) -Front controls have a lot of resistance when turning -Comes with rubber feet you can stick on (sticker style) so no rattling -I believe that it is made from real wood (says so on the packaging), if not; very realistic -Cables were all long enough CONS: -Minimal Cables -Left speaker seems noticeably quieter than the main, easily fixed with audio drivers if used with a PC -A little to directional for my taste; I notice a difference when I walk around my room I use it with gaming, music, and movies. Very please with this. I don't need mega loud speakers so as long as you do not need to blast music or what not these are actually very prolific

I use this in my home voice over recording studio, and they sound amazing. For the low price you pay, you can't beat it. It has really good bass and the clarity is just magnificent. I highly recommend these speakers
