Designed for guitarists and singer-songwriters, Cakewalk Guitar Tracks Pro 4 software is an outstanding recording solution that takes your music from riff to hit easier than ever. With Guitar Tracks Pro 4 you get much more than just recording software. You get an amazing virtual guitar amp for inspired, arena-ready tones—without disturbing the neighbors. You also get an entire backing band of virtual instruments—always ready to accompany you. Cakewalk's music software also has precise audio editing tools to comp the perfect solo or vocal track, a mixing console, effects arsenal, and makes it easy to burn CDs or upload your music directly to the web—all for less than a few hours in the recording studio.

Multitrack Recording Software
Cakewalk Guitar Tracks Pro 4 has an easy—to-use interface which puts key features easily accessible with a single mouse click, while precise sound editing tools help you tweak your tracks to perfection. You don't have to be a professional recording engineer to create your own professional-grade tracks.

With this production software you can create, edit, and print your own notation and tablature from any MIDI file or MIDI track. Download MIDI files to learn and play along. Double synth parts on guitar. Make tab for your rhythm guitarist, and more. Included fretboard view makes it easy to match notes to the guitar neck.

The virtual mixer lets you take control of your mix and get it just right with all the important tools and controls right there: mute, solo, pan, EQ, FX, and more.

Virtual Amp
Guitar Tracks Pro 4 gives you great tone, right inside your PC—just plug in your guitar and go. Access authentic sounds from classic country to arena rock and everything in between; Native Instruments' Guitar Rig 3 LE has you covered.

Your Backing Band
No band? No problem. Cakewalk Studio Instruments boasts top-quality electric bass, drums, piano, and strings—it's like having session players at your disposal 24/7. You can also add additional virtual instruments with support for VST and ReWire.

Studio-quality Effects
Get amazing sounds with 12 included studio-quality effects: Classic Phaser, Modfilter, Chorus/Flanger, Tempo Delay, Bit Decimator, Studioverb, HF Exciter, Compressor/Gate, Para-Q, and more. Guitar Tracks Pro 4's effects include useful pre-configured presets for commonly used sounds. You can use these effects on input to hear them as you record or add them later on in the mixing process. Use them on any track or bus (group of tracks) simultaneously. Add up to 24 effects per project and easily turn on/off the effects for quick A/B comparisons, and add additional effects with support for 3rd party VST plug-ins.

Get more volume and punch from your final mix with the Boost 11 limiter/maximizer. It gives you professional results with a simple-to-use interface. The Boost 11 Peak Limiter provides transparent peak limiting and volume maximization without coloring the sound of the source material. It employs a "look-ahead" limiter algorithm to prevent output clipping and PDR (Program Dependent Release) to minimize pumping (fluctuations of the volume) and maximize the loudness.

Additional Content
Play along with drum loops recorded by world-class players John Blackwell (Prince, Justin Timberlake), Jerry Marotta (Peter Gabriel, Paul McCartney), Nick D'Virgilio (Genesis, Tears for Fears), Ed Greene (Steely Dan, Barry White), Danny Gottlieb (Pat Metheny Group, Sting) courtesy of Sonic Reality.

Cakewalk Guitar Tracks Pro 4 includes additional samples and instrument loops spanning rock, blues, country, and bluegrass from Smart Loops, Digital Sound Factory, and Groove Monkee. There's over 2GB of included content.

There's also a demo project by Dave Martone, one of the top shredders in North America, featuring drums by Daniel Adair of Nickleback.

  • Great Value For The Price!!!

As reviewed by Gary Standerfer on 5/23/2011

Playing guitar for over 50 years but new to recording. Just for pleasure. The last time I recorded anything was on a 4 track reel to reel. Loaded on my computer and was recording with in 30 minutes. Fairly easy to understand but would be nice to have more detailed leaning information. This soft ware has a lot features. I am no where close to learning everything that Guitar Tracks Pro has but I have been very satisfied with the product. Learning more every week and having a lot of fun. Buy it ?.you want be disappointed.

  • Great but with Learning Curve

As reviewed by Vance on 12/24/2009

I was looking for a inexspensive recrding program to go with my Line 6 Tone Port GX. I flirted with Riff Works, and Guitar Tracks 3.0 demos, both had their quirks and found that CGTP 3.0 demo easier to use. When I saw Guitar Center had version CGTP 4.0 on sale I jumped on it. There is so much included with the new version it can be a bit overwhelming for a beginner like me. But some patience, a little research on line, allot of noodling, and exploring the program I am able to get it to work for my purposes. Actually set up was easy and it worked with no problems with the tone port. It also comes with Native Instruments Guitar Rig 3 le which also works great with the Tone Port. I believe Pod Farm and GRT 3.0 are about equal in sound and no learning curve with either of them. What is amazing being a newb to computer recording was the inclusion of Cakewalk's Studio Instruments. To have a complete studio orchestra at the click of a mouse or key is frustrating, dumbfounding, distracting and once I learned how to use and create loops and import them it became uber cool. Plus it also comes with a bunch of other tools like a CD burner, Mp3 maker which is a 30day trial and a bunch of other goodies I have not yet explored. I would have given the program a 5 star rating except for its learning curve. Easy to setup and easy to get going for basic recording functions. But to take advantage of everything it has to offer it takes time, patience, a little research and reading. On the whole there was nothing I couldn't figure out and I am very excited about my purchase. With all of the tools that are included in this package a begiiner to computer recording for guitar cannot go wrong in getting this. I would easily buy this again in a heartbeat. Now if I could only convince my better half to let loose for the price of a Axiom 25 Keyboard I would have a complete recording studio with a band on my laptop. Wow!!

  • Great program

As reviewed by StevenMikel on 7/13/2010

Guitar Tracks Pro 4 is a great program. Its easy to use and,has everything you need(soft synths, drum loops, midi loops, amp sim,and effects) to get started recording and producing your songs.I do suggest that you get some better soft synths. The included Studio Instruments are great for pre-production and skectching out song ideas but, they're limited and don't sound very realistic.
