The CAD GXL3000BP is a large diaphragm multi-pattern condenser that is borne of precious metal and pure electricity. Tune two golden membranes intimately across polished bass and inject electrons with oscillatory high tension. Drive emotion across copper and iron by field-effect detection. Wrap it in Faraday's cage to conceive the GXL3000. Live all three polar patterns as you align space and tone. The GXL3000BP is a great well-rounded general instrument mic for applications in the home studio, and is priced for the budget minded home studio owner. It is sonically described as having boosted upper mids and highs that provide extra air, cut and clarity. Stylishly finished in black pearl chrome. Features include hi-pass filter and attenuator. Elastic shock mount and protective pouch are included. P48 (48V) phantom power is required.
Applications: studio vocals, voice-over, choir, acoustic instrument, guitar cabinets, bass cabinets, piano, and ambient drum room.

I thought the mix would be like all others but with the three polar pattern, I can get the sound I need when I need it. There is a couple of feature I need to review but this is one of my best mics
I recently purchased the CAD GXL3000 for use at my home studio just to have something when I don't feel like driving to my studio in Downtown Dallas, I'm an Industry Recording Artist and Producer, I have and have worked with quite a few high end name brand mics (Nueman, AKG, Blue, GT, Audio Technica, Shure, etc.) I got the GXL3000 cause it looked nice and was cheap, it had a nice good sturdy construction and weight about it, but I didn't expect it to perform as well as it did with the little Lexicon interface and without a mic pre, it uses Phantom Power so once that was in place I was ready to work and truly was impressed with the pick up patterns and the low noise ratio and at the time of trying it out was even without my pop filter, it gave me a good rich vocal signal that was very useful in my late night creations that I didn't have to re-record at my studio using the 414, or the 214 (AKG), or the U-87 (Nueman) I am pleased to say the vocal content and signal where just as good surprisingly, all I can say is I'm pleased with my purchase. Dekumpozed of NX (Ruthless Records/Epic/Sony)
