  • CAD KBM412 is a WINNER!!

As reviewed by Bill Sanders "Colonel" on 6/13/2008

This is the 2nd one of these CAD KBM412 microphones I have purchased. They are great! Fast transistent response and "deep". They have more "attack" like a flat condensor but the "fatness" of a dynamic microphone. They are not as sensitive as some "kick drum" microphones and thus work well with consoles that do not have a "pad" on the input.

  • You get what you pay for

As reviewed by Eric on 4/2/2015

Didn't work for me. It has low end, but good luck trying to get any punch out of it. I had to EQ it a lot to get a decent sound. It is built nice though, seems like it could take a beating. For the price I guess it's alright but I would definitely recommend spending the extra money on a better mic. I've since replaced this with a Beta 52A.

  • KBM 412... Perfect for Us

As reviewed by JOHN AYERS on 4/22/2014

I was about to purchase a mic that cost three times this one for a young rock band that performs regularly. We had been using a vocal mic for the kick, and were happy enough, but knew somethng was missing. I saw this mic online and thought if ordered from GC I could return hassel-free if I didn't like. The mic is heavy and solid. The first time we tried it was at a gig with 200 guests in the house. This mic boomed! It lights up the Cerwin-Vega 18" sub! We were all pleased with it and it just sounded great. We've had the kick mic'ed by venues with expensive house kick drum mic's before, but the KBM 412 sounded just as good as most, better than some. We are satisfied. I'll be getting another one for the floor tom, and a spare... and I'll STILL be paying less than for one expensive kick drum mic! Buy one!
