  • Great Drum Overheads

As reviewed by Josh Scott on 1/10/2011

These mics work very well for the price. At first I was skeptical of buying them because of mixed reviews that I have read, but I needed some drum overheads to go along with the Digital Reference 4 pc drum mic kit (another 5 stars for that, by the way). I became a bit more skeptical when the mics came in boxes not much larger than a deck of cards. The clips even weighed more than the mics! But once I plugged them up, adjusted the levels, and turned the built in -10 DB switch on, they worked like a charm. My cymbals are so clear. I've even recorded some tracks with my friends and these mics mix my cymbals very well. If you're looking for good quality for a small price, these are the mics for you. My only thing about them is they pick up a lot of my snare drum, but for a price this low for a pair of condenser mics I won't complain.

  • Great budget mics

As reviewed by Erik on 3/18/2011

I got these mics as part of the larger CAD and they were the only part worth keeping. I have used them extensively as cymbal overheads and for acoustic instruments. the amount of off axis rejection even makes them suitable for live sound. A great buy for budget condensers!

  • Great Little Find

As reviewed by Andy on 6/2/2010

I'm still unsure why people haven't been talking about these mics. It may be the price that sets people off, but folks do not be alarmed. CAD has made something worthwhile for us to enjoy, and Guitar Center has hooked us up with a great deal. These mics are hot, and they are clear. I use them for drum overheards, acoustic guitars, and for area mics on choirs. They pick up anything in the area and everything comes out clearly. trust the review, these mics will get any job done.
