Overview

The C Tech V2 Pocket Rockit Headphone Amplifier captures the tonal heritage of 50 years of guitar amp design. It combines analog and digital signal processing to reproduce classic tube amp tones. A proprietary DSP engine provides awesome digital effects such as reverb, delay, chorus, and flange, while an analog front end generates classic amp emulation tones.

You don't even need a cable. Like all Pocket Rockit products, the V2 plugs directly into any guitar. Just plug it in, put on your headphones and you're ready to rock 'n' roll. You can even play along with your favorite CD. Best of all, the V2 sounds better than many full-blown amplifiers.

The C Tech V2's amp emulation circuitry models vintage and current classics. The Clean amp button scrolls through 3 clean or slightly over-driven tones. The Dirty amp button scrolls through 3 gnarly, positively nasty high-gain selections. Sounds reminiscent of classic Fender, Marshall, Soldano and other amps are at your fingertips.

This headphone amp has 2 independent DSP effect banks: a delay bank with straight delay, flange, and chorus: and a reverb bank that includes arena reverb, small-hall reverb, and an echo effect. Use any effect independently, or use one from each bank simultaneously.

A digital tuner features audible low-E, A, D, G, B and high-E notes. Tri-colored LED indicates flat, sharp, or in tune. It's a perfect tool for improving your ear. A built-in click track/metronome has a naturally- sampled snare drum hit - there's no annoying buzz or tone. The Pocket Rockit's metronome has adjustable tempos between 60 -180 bpm provides a great way to work on your time.

I can't believe there are only a few reviews on this little amp. I have two full-size tube amps, including the Fender Princeton Recording but for playing late at night the V2 is amazing. I use it with both my Strat and my LP Standard. It has two amp models and three variations within each of those. I don't use the distortion but the chorus effect is decent for occasional use. I use my Bose headphones with this and consider it an essential part of my music arsenal. If you're considering some type of headphone amp- this is the one to get- well worth the price.

I bought this based off of the good reviews and in store demo. After it broke in about a week (no sound) and was replaced I really put it to use and hated it. The sound wears on you and gets old quick. It now sounds flat and boring. Changing the sound is very limited and I can't stand it any more. Features: Very Limited Quality: OK although I had to replace it

Nah...

By Ron Bowman

Comments about C Tech Pocket Rockit V2 Guitar Headphone Amplifier:

This unit sounds great. You can get decent cleans and great overdrive sounds, and there are some pretty good modulation effects as well. Very versatile for a headphone amp. Too bad the construction isn't a little better. I used mine for approx 6 months, then it just stopped working altogether. I didn't drop it or anything -- I was always careful because I could see it was made entirely of cheap plastic. It just wore out and wouldn't turn on anymore.

Great Overall

By Toulooze

Comments about C Tech Pocket Rockit V2 Guitar Headphone Amplifier:

The little amp works great and if you plug it into your instrument using a patch cord, you can change the settings as you play. Otherwise, you'd have to unplug it to adjust it. The headphones are better than you'd expect but the chord on them is way too short since there is no clip or device to clip it to your clothes. I chose this brand because of the multiple settings, but especially for the reverb. Unfortunately, there is a distinct hiss when reverb is used, even on the lowest setting.

Wow perfect for the new to expert

Comments about C Tech Pocket Rockit V2 Guitar Headphone Amplifier:

I have had this a year or so and really like it. I don't play very well yet so it saves me from my wife complaining about the noise. really this is a very small and perfect unit that works well. I would say on a bad note is the buttons have worn the letter off so it's hard to read the buttons. But I rate it a five star.

Had problems

By Rick

from Palm Springs, CA.

Comments about C Tech Pocket Rockit V2 Guitar Headphone Amplifier:

The unit I had kept shutting off during tuning and low volume playing. I replaced the batteries twice with no results. Maybe I just received a bad unit. The effects available and sound was pretty good. The item is on its way back to GC.

Comments about C Tech Pocket Rockit V2 Guitar Headphone Amplifier:

The settings are awesome.I dont disturb anyone.I pick a song that I want to learn how to play and print off the tablature and burn the song on a cd.I hook up a portable cd player to the v2 amp.I can hear myself playing the guitar while listening to the song. This helps on tuning and rhythm. When no ones home I crank up the regular guitar amp.Have fun and enjoy!

Well made product, great value

By kecker

Comments about C Tech Pocket Rockit V2 Guitar Headphone Amplifier:

I had one of the original Pocket Rockits back in the 90's and was pretty satisfied with the few features it had, but was absolutely amazed of the sound quality of the V2. I have played this on several guitars and to get the same versatility you have to buy two amps and three or four effects pedals plus a metronome and tuner. I thoroughly enjoy the convenience of plugging this thing in and producing some amazing tones. One recommendation would be to buy the accessory bag for this to keep everything together and protected. It would be nice if it were included but it is well worth spending another twelve dollars

V2 Pocket Rocket

By ZED

from Anchorage, AK

Comments about C Tech Pocket Rockit V2 Guitar Headphone Amplifier:

I bought this amp before I left for college, it has served me very well. It is the smallest best sounding headphone amp on the market, (and yes I have tried them all). The distortion and clean channels are great, the reverb sounds like an echo in a small room, and the other features are great as well. I like the V2 because it fits in my case and anytime I am away from home I can just pull it out and play.
