Overview

The timeless design and sound of the all-tube amp has made its indelible mark on countless beloved tracks spanning the history of the electric guitar. With the ultimate pursuit of those wonderfully saturated and buttery vintage tones in mind, Bugera proudly presents the Vintage V5 Infinium.

Sporting a gorgeous vintage look and feel, the V5 serves up 5 beautiful, tube-soaked, Class-A Watts in all your favorite flavors through an amazing, class-leading 8" Turbosound speaker. Additionally, the Vintage V5 Infinium features an integrated high-definition Reverb; a built-in 2-way Power Attenuator, so you can achieve the ultimate sound at any volume “ and an extremely versatile Vintage Equalizer with Tone control for sculpting the sound of your dreams. Enhancing the flexibility of this do-it-all combo, our revolutionary Infinium Tube Life Multiplier Technology makes tube replacement incredibly simple “ so you can spend more time playing your music.

Classic All-Tube Design
The Vintage V5 Infinium features true Class-A technology with a 12AX7 front-end and an EL84 power stage. A masterfully crafted all-tube combo amplifier, the V5 provides sweetly-balanced harmonics and natural tube compression, resulting in the warm distortion and break-up you™ve come to appreciate from those vintage megaliths of yesteryear “ only in a much more portable and attractive package. The hand-selected 12AX7 preamp tube in V5' classic '60s-era preamp provides everything from sweetly-purring blues to mind - blowing crunch. Often employed in British-style amplifiers, the EL84 output tube is known for its crisp and chiming tonal quality when pushed to the max, and the V5 harnesses that power via the built-in power attenuator “ for the ultimate guitar tone at any volume level.

High-Definition Reverb
Adding to its impressive list of tone-shaping options, the Vintage V5' high-definition Reverb puts the perfect finishing touch to your signature sound. Adjustable via the dedicated control on the front panel, you can finally achieve any sound you desire “ from a subtle touch to the cavernous, natural-sounding reverberation of a large arena.

Infinium Tube Life Multiplier Technology
Years in the making, Bugera's Infinium Tube Life Multiplier Technology can extend the usable lifespan of your amplifier's expensive power valves by up to 20 times, saving you huge money and ensuring the integrity of your tone. How? This revolutionary circuit automatically and continuously monitors the performance of each output tube, and dynamically drives it towards the target operating point, for an evenly distributed load.

Infinium also compensates for the effects of aging, automatically adjusting current levels to keep your tubes sounding as good as new “ even when AC line voltages drop below nominal levels. Similar technology has been used for decades in all-wheel drive cars, where systems modulate the power going to each wheel to improve traction. Just consider Infinium Series amps "4-wheel drive" for your guitar.

Infinium Series amps take all the guesswork out of tube replacement by illuminating an LED next to a tube that is reaching the end of its usable lifespan. And thanks to Infinium's Auto-Bias design, you simply replace the indicated tube “ without a trip to the repair shop, saving you even more money.

Available exclusively from Bugera, Infinium Tube Life Multiplier Technology is a major breakthrough in amplifier design and manufacture, providing incredible reliability for your stage performance and more consistent sound over the lifespan of your tubes. Since they are always operating at optimal levels, your output tubes perform more predictably and last much longer, thanks to Bugera's marvelous Infinium Technology, saving you some serious money.

I am mostly a living room / bedroom player. I have been using a Fender Blues Junior for years (and still do). I wanted a slightly smaller amp, same tube sound, for use outdoors and as more easily portable, and needed a headphone option (FBJ does not)
I like clean tube amp sound with a Tele. This a super good quality amp, controls, construction, sound all great! However, side-by-side comparison to BJ there is no comparison to sound quality of the BJ with deeper & richer tube tones as well as more power. But this was not critera for the Bugera which suits my needs exactly as I was looking for. Effects pedals all sound great as well. I did a side by side comparison of the amps reverb against a Hall of Fame reverb pedal, was very impressed with the amps sounds, true reverb!

Comments about Bugera V5 Infinium 5W 1x8 All Tube Guitar Combo Amp:

This is a limited use amp for any bedroom blues players. The amp is pretty dark sounding and ,in my opinion, sounds too fat or sloppy with any guitar except for brighter sounding Fenders. If you do buy this amp, please buy a warranty! I bought my amp in October 2015 and I noticed it had a strange rattle with certain bass notes. I was able to live with it, but then the amp started getting static in the speaker. Eventually, it was so bad that it stopped working all together. After I looked online, I discovered that the company has a lot of problems like this. I will not be buying this amp or Bugera again.

Excellent opportunity to experience all tube sound at very reasonable cost. Mine was perfect right out of the box. This amp has a very "high quality" feel, nothing cheap about it. Can't stop playing. Whether using semi hollow or solid body quitar, both sound great.

Comments about Bugera V5 Infinium 5W 1x8 All Tube Guitar Combo Amp:

I would definitely recommend this amp to a friend, but with stipulations. First, the amp build quality and design is great. I love the simplicity of the amp controls and the vintage-y facade. As for sound, I love the tube punch. The tone is full, crunchy and responds well to pedals. There are obviously better tube amps and the only thing that I really feel "meh" about soundwise is the reverb. It's not bad reverb, but just your typical nothing-special digital reverb on a budget amp. The power attenuator is very handy for playing out loud (sans 'phones) and getting good gain at a reasonable volume. I will say that with headphones the 0.1w setting becomes almost muted. Headphones are quiet on this amp in general, and especially if you're not using a lot of tone or gain.

However, I purchased this amp for it's tubes. More specifically, I purchased this amp to get solid bluesy tube overdrive. If you are looking for a multipurpose amp that will deliver crystal clear chimey clean tones you are most likely looking in the wrong place. The low gain is nice and bright, but you'll never truly be rid of distortion in your sound. This is great for me as I have other options for clean stuff, but for someone starting out and looking to explore a variety of sounds I would say steer clear. This amp is not made to be clean. These aren't cons. This amp does what it was designed to do quite well, but I find in some reviews that a select number of folks purchased this amp with misguided expectations.

In summation, purchase with confidence if you know what sound you're going for and have played through tubes. Avoid if you are looking for a multi-dimensional practice amp. In the latter case, if you can't live without some tube in your life but want variety and aren't looking to start an amp collection, you may want to check out the Vox Valvetronix. It's a modeling amp, giving you versatility, but with a 12AX7 in the preamp and a solid state power amp.

Comments about Bugera V5 Infinium 5W 1x8 All Tube Guitar Combo Amp:

This is obviously a small practice amp, not suitable for big gigs. That said, it does what it is supposed to do very well, it gets a good tone at low volume. You can play late at night with the wattage set at 0.1 and not disturb the neighbors, a great thing for electric guitar players. If you bump it up to 5 watts, it's good for around the house jams and maybe very small venues.
I've been using this amp around the house for several years and haven't babied it, I turn it on and play for a song or two then shut it off, tube amps hate that. It has worked flawlessly though, I've replaced the tubes once, the original tubes burnt out quickly, fortunately there's only a couple and they're not expensive.
I really like this amp as it lets me get regular use of my electric guitars. I have other more powerful amps for gigging but this is perfect for low volume practice with a cool tube tone.

Great practice or studio amp. Love the attenuation options as well as the built in reverb, which you don't find in a lot of small tube amps. The sound is great. Has good cleans but I really love it when starts to break up, It has some monster crunch. It works well with drive pedals as well.

Comments about Bugera V5 Infinium 5W 1x8 All Tube Guitar Combo Amp:

I'd recently started playing again after several years of barely playing and wanted a better sounding amp than the little Micro-Cube I'd had on a bookshelf. I tried a Fender Mustang v2 and was amazed by the technology and pretty happy with the sound. But once I tried a bunch of presets and narrowed it down to a half dozen favorites, they were all essentially based on some Fender reverb model with some extra gain/distortion and sometimes compression added in. The sound was surprisingly good, but not all that good. I hadn't owned a tube amp since a Blues Junior about 10-15 years ago and I sort of missed that warm tube growl.

Well the V5 has that in spades. A slightly darker sounding amp, but bright enough with a Telecaster with single coils. I'll probably be playing clean stuff at 1 watt and overdriven stuff at 0.1 watt most of the time - this thing is too loud for my current environment at 5 watts with any sort of volume or gain dialed in. And it'll only scream so loud so for the 20-30% of my lead playing that need more drive than this amp has, so I'll probably pick up a tube-screamer or something similar to play in front of this sometimes.

Overall, I love the sound of this amp brand new, and I expect it'll only get better with a bit of break-in and down the road maybe with some tube upgrades.

This was my first tube amp. Can be cranked in a suburban or rural house on the 0.1 watt setting. Might not be best for apartments.

Nice sound, distortion is kinda light but it's nothing an overdrive pedal won't fix

Very simple, which was exactly what I was looking for :)

If you're looking for a warm tube sound, in a small, simple package, this is it. Most of the at home practice I do is at a low volume, but I wanted a clean, organic sound. The Bugera V5 delivers. I haven't tried it yet, but I think it's loud enough to use to jam at reasonable volumes. It does great pretty loud when cranked. Overall I'm very pleased and would recommend this amp, if you're looking for clean tones with some overdrive. You can cut the power and get dirty, but a driver, with full power would work much better, in my opinion.
