Overview

Building on Bugera's original and inspired V22 amp design, the impressively full-featured and handbuilt, 22W, 2-Channel Vintage V22 Infinium tube combo amplifier not only exudes vintage sound and style, but possesses modern features that will launch your tone into the sonic stratosphere. Loaded with three 12AX7 preamp and two EL84 power tubes, this incredible boutique-style powerhouse gives you the flexibility of two independent channels and selectable reverb, both switchable via the included heavy-duty footswitch. Add to this to the revolutionary Infinium Tube Life Multiplier Technology and amazing 12" Turbosound speaker, and the Vintage V55 Infinium becomes one extraordinarily versatile tone-machine that is ideally-suited for the studio, stage, practice room and concert hall!

The Vintage V22 Infinium features true Class-A technology with a three 12AX7 front-end and two EL84 tube power stage. A masterfully crafted all-tube combo amplifier, the V22 provides sweetly-balanced harmonics and natural tube compression, resulting in the warm distortion and break-up you™ve come to appreciate from those treasured vintage amplifiers of yesteryear.

The hand-selected 12AX7 preamp tubes in Vintage V22 Infinium' classic ˜60s-era preamp provide everything from sweetly purring blues to mind-blowing crunch. Often employed in British-style amplifiers, the EL84 output tube is known for its crisp and chiming tonal quality when pushed to the max, and the V22 harnesses every ounce of that power to awesome effect.

Infinium Tube Life Multiplier Technology
Years in the making, our Infinium Tube Life Multiplier Technology can extend the usable lifespan of your amplifier' expensive power tubes by up to 20 times, saving you huge money and ensuring the integrity of your tone. How? This revolutionary circuit automatically and continuously monitors the performance of each output tube, and dynamically drives it towards the target operating point, for an evenly distributed load.

Infinium also compensates for the effects of aging, automatically adjusting current levels to keep your tubes sounding as good as new “ even when AC line voltages drop below nominal levels. Similar technology has been used for decades in all-wheel drive cars, where systems modulate the power going to each wheel to improve traction. Just consider Infinium Series amps œ4-wheel drive for your guitar.

Infinium Series amps take all the guesswork out of tube replacement by illuminating an LED next to a tube that is reaching the end of its usable lifespan. And thanks to Infinium' Auto-Bias design, you simply replace the indicated tube “ without a trip to the repair shop, saving you even more money.

This is an excellent amp for jam sessions and small venue performances. I've had it for 3 months and absolutely love it! The clean channel is amazing; much better than any other tube amp in the same price category. The lead/gain channel is a little muddy. I rarely use the lead channel because the clean channel sounds so good and takes pedals very well. But the lead/gain channel can get some good blues and classic rock sounds with low gain settings. The reverb is workable, it's not great but it's not bad either. The footswitch lets you switch between the clean/lead channels and switch reverb on/off. The footswitch would be even better if it had a switch for the "boost" too, but it's not a deal-breaker.

I mainly play blues, classic rock and some country. This amp works perfectly for these styles. It doesn't work very well for metal (although you may be able to get it to work with the right pedals). This amp is loud enough to keep up with a drummer in small settings.

Before I bought this, I was comparing it to the Vox AC15 and Fender Blues Jr. I have found that the Bugera's clean channel is the best sounding of the three and it's a few hundred dollars cheaper. I also own a Fender Mustang modeling amp. There is no comparison between the Mustang and Bugera. I almost never use the Mustang anymore because the Bugera sounds so much better.

First, I do like the sound and features of the amp. The clean channel has great tone and the gain channel sounds good with gain set around 2 or 3 with a nice bluesy breakup. I'm not thrilled with the gain higher than that but a new set of tubes might help a bit. The reverb is better than I expected and the footswitch feels solid although the cable for it is pretty flimsy. However, I found that it has a bad power tube right out of the box. From the first time I tried it I noticed a rattle noise when I play certain notes, even at low volume and clean or dirty. I did some troubleshooting and pinpointed the noise to the tube - with the power OFF, a gentle tap with the tip of a pencil on tube 1 produces the same noise, the others are all quiet. Considering where this shipped from I wasn't really that upset and as I said, I like the sound of the amp.

Comments about Bugera V22 Infinium 22W 1x12 All Tube Guitar Combo Amp:

I bought my V22 a few years ago, and have had zero issues with it. Like any amp, after alot of use, I've had to change the tubes out. These amps do sound alot better with an upgrade to Tung Sol tubes, although there's nothing wrong with the stock tubes either. They're just cheap, like any other amp's stock tubes.

I'm using this amp after another professional guitarist introduced me to his V22 in studio. More and more country and blues musicians are choosing to both tour and record in the studio with these.

The cleans from this amp are sparkly and fat. Best amp going for country, rivaling higher dollar Matchless and Budda amps for chicken picking.

On the dirty channel with the gain around 10 o'clock, you get a wonderful, thick syrupy blues tone that out Fenders any Fenders. Go up to 12 o'clock and you've got a perfect dirty blues tone that cuts through the mix. 3 o'clock gets a perfect classic rock tone.

This amp also takes pedals really, really well, can allowing me to use my pedal board fully.

The 15 watt setting is perfect for home practice use and the 22 watt setting is great in studio and small venues. Micd up, she's great for any size venue.

      Poor quality

Comments about Bugera V22 Infinium 22W 1x12 All Tube Guitar Combo Amp:

This is my first and last Bugera product. I just can't say enough about the poor quality of this amp. No long stories, but instead the list of items that do not work on this new amp after 6 months of light use:

      1. Reverb
      2. Channel selector
      3. Bad tube

If you spend a few minutes searching the internet for related problems you will see first hand the issues with this amp many others have had. When I bought it, the amp had a higher rating and I did fall for the cheaper price. But once again, you get what you pay for.

Comments about Bugera V22 Infinium 22W 1x12 All Tube Guitar Combo Amp:

I bought this amp about a year and a half ago, ( My version is just the classic V22, no infinium tech).
I had recently bought a Fender as I am a big fan of the Fender clean tones. But After sending back my fender 3 times to have it fixed I gave up on that. Saw this v22 sitting in the used section of Gc and thought "Hey, why not?" plugged in and was instantly hooked.
This amp delivers great power considering its price tag. Loud enough to keep up with the other guitarist in my band's 100 watt Kustom (until he hits about 7 or 8, but we never really get that loud anyways)
Its incredibly portable which is awesome when it comes time to Gig (easy set up/tear down)
Everyone always seems to say "Watchout for Bugera, they have wire problems and you'll be sorry" After almost two years of heavy playing, gigging and recording, the only problem I have had was not realizing I needed to replace my tubes after a year. (It's my first Tube amp, and all my friends are solid state as well)

Completely worth the find, especially as I got it on deal (Some one had stolen the reverb tank out of the back). I'd buy it again in a heartbeat

Comments about Bugera V22 Infinium 22W 1x12 All Tube Guitar Combo Amp:

Don't let the name fool you. Bugera is making some good stuff these days. Well constructed, not overly heavy, and the new turbosound speakers make a difference. Clean tones are very clear and warm, and you may be surprised how much gain this amp dishes out. At 22 watts it will keep up with a drummer, no problem. For studio work this amp is phenomenally good because it mics up so well. Do yourself a favor and put this machine up against other tube amps that cost 2-3 times as much, and you will prove to yourself this guy can hang with the big boys. For the price you will be pleasantly pleased. Don't over think it just because it's not a "name brand" buy one today and see for yourself!

Don't get fooled by the name, Bugera is a company that is building a better and better reputation over the years. This amp is a solid machine. I bought this becasue I needed something small to carry around to jam sessions and record with. This amp fills the bill. The turbosound speaker is solid and the build construction is better than anything else in the $400 price range. The tone is surprisingly good too. At 22 tube watts you can keep up with a loud drummer and still cut through well enough to be heard, mics up just as well. Cleans are warm and clear, overdrive is as "real" sounding as amps that cost over twice as much. Buy this amp, shut up and play! The tone will prove itself.
