Overview

The stunning Bugera V22 1x12 Tube Combo Amp not only exudes unbelievable sound, but this 22W amplifier also possesses modern flourishes capable of taking it to any corner of the musical landscape. Perfect for practice, home recording, or small club gigs, the Bugera V22 is a loud lad that channels its mojo from 2 EL84 power tubes. These give it the bratty, breakup-prone power amp compression-especially in the its triode mode-its 6L6GC-equipped siblings can only achieve at high volumes.

The Bugera V22 gives you everything that antique amps deliver-without the bloated price tags. Don't be fooled, though; the V22 tube amp packs a special feature that makes it much more than a tribute to the early days of guitar amplification. To explain, we must take a quick step back in time . . .

Before greasy juvenile delinquents hijacked the blues, guitar amps generally came in 2 species: those with triode (having 3 active electrodes) power valves and those with pentode (containing 5 active electrodes) power tubes. Triode valves, which came before pentodes, provide what a lot of guitarists describe as a "gentler" tone. Pentodes, on the other hand, are decidedly more "in-your-face." The Bugera V22 combo is built for power pentode tubes, but that doesn't mean you have to settle for a singular pentode personality. This Bugera amp includes a Mode switch for you to operate the power section as if it had triode tubes-at roughly 40 percent less power. So what'll it be today-old-school or oldest-school?

The sound of the Bugera V22 tube combo begins with a 2-channel (Clean and Lead) preamp. Plug into either the Bright or Normal inputs, then adjust the 3-band EQ (Bass, Mid, Treble) and Presence control to create a sound all your own. Its 3 12AX7 preamp tubes provide the V22 amp with a feast of fuzz. The dual EL84 valves in the power stage propel its terse cockney tone through a Bugera 12" speaker.

If you need to feed more speakers, the V22 amp's Impedance switch adjusts it to 4, 8 or 16 Ohms-which gives it compatibility with just about any speaker cabinet you can find. You also get reverb, but for utmost durability and sound, this classic effect is derived from a professional quality digital processor. The spring reverb found in antique amps sounded great, but they're delicate and expensive to repair. This modern touch on the V22 gives you a vintage sounding reverb sound that's every bit as beautiful, but a million times less breakable. And if all these features weren't enough, you also get an incredibly durable footswitch to select channels and engage the reverb without stopping mid-show.

Whether you're making a record, practicing, or paying your dues on the dive bar circuit, the Bugera V22 Tube Combo Amp complements your guitar-craft with the gold-standard tones of the past-today!

Picked one of these up last week and have ran it thru its paces. What a nice sounding amp. This is a very british sounding 2 channel rocker. Clean channel is like an Vox but with more gain on tap if needed, and the dirty channel picks up from there and gets the amp into Marshall territory. I really like how the two channels interact. The tone controls are shared but they work together to produce two excellent sounds. I gig occasionally and so far in band practice this amp has delivered AC DC,ZZ Top,70's Funk to 80's hard rock. The Pentode Triode switch lowers the power and gives a great tweed vibe. All in all a great package. Highly recommended

Bought this amp a little over a month ago and i was really enjoying it until, one night I was in the middle of a lead riff & it started switching back & forth from the clean/overdrive channel! Luckly, I bought the extended warranty, & Guitar Center took it back with ease. I live about 150 miles from the closest Guitar Center in Dallas(buy all my stuff there/great people)I drove up because they had me a brand new one, in a box, so I exchanged it out. I didnt test it out at the store(I told my wife it was stupid before we left, but we was rushed for time), I just came on back to the house. When I got home, I plugged it in & turned it on. I just looked at the ground when it turned on because there was a buzz then some crackling noise & nothing was even plugged into it! I changed the switch from triode to pentode mode and its not as obvious, but still some crackling noise. I went ahead and plugged into it, thinking maybe when the tubes warmed up it would go away, but it didnt. Besides all that, I really like the amp. I just want to find one that works properly. Moral of the story is, if you like the amp, make sure you buy the extended warranty & test out the one that you are going to leave the store with! Maybe the third one will be the charm for me!

Great Tube Amp Tone

By Drake

Comments about Bugera V22 22W 1x12 Tube Guitar Combo Amp:

Just a great amp. Especially for the money. The cleans are nice and jangly, and the gain is pretty gritty, yet can quiet down for a soft blues overdrive. I don't suggest playing with this thing at a HUGE gig, unless mic'd, because with master volume up around 8 to 10, the tube breakup just sounds dirty and trashy. But, I play in a youth band at my church, and its perfect for 200 or less audience sizes :) and you can always mic it! I really love this amp. Amazing tone for the price. (Way more versatile then blues junior if you ask me ;) )

Really good stage amp

Comments about Bugera V22 22W 1x12 Tube Guitar Combo Amp:

I'm a lifelong musician/guitarist that does live sound engineering for a living. My favorite local acts' lead guitarist had been having issues with his rig/s, he was swapping between a silverface Deluxe and a rack rig that was a bit much for the venues. I couldn't get him to let me work on the Fender (it's in need of caps/tubes/bias/cleaning)or the rack rig (he's a little possesive) but he showed up at the last show with a new V22 that he bought that afternoon. He uses a far number of pedals (he also cleaned that up with a board and new cables, filtered power, mucho better)and although he only used the clean channel/pedal combo, it was pretty amazing. These have a really good clean tonality, very fender with a bit of vox edge to it (EL84's, gotta love that). Put thru the FOH it sounded huge, full, nice definition. With a push from any OD pedal it stayed focused and didn't go into the brittle/noisey zone at all. Wish I could have heard the crunch channel. It was mic'd with an SM57, mid-cone, flat EQ, no outboard anything. Just a great sounding little amp.

Great sounding AMP - and for the money it's amazing.

Comments about Bugera V22 22W 1x12 Tube Guitar Combo Amp:

I picked up my Bugera V22 yesterday, trading up from a VOX AD15VT. I was looking for an amp with a smoother tone (on clean) while providing a tube overdriven sound (on gain). Delighted with my purchase, my American Strat and Washbourne HB-35 have never sounded so good. I'm fronting it with a DigiTech RP500 modeling pedal and have basically bypassed all the amp modeling features and am now using it purely for the effects as I don't want to interfere with the great tone of the Bugera. I spent about 3 hours playing through a Fender Super Champ, a VOX AC4TV, a Peavey Valve King and a Fender Hot Rod before deciding on the Bugera. I plain just prefered the sound and for the money it's unbeatable.

Comments about Bugera V22 22W 1x12 Tube Guitar Combo Amp:

Bought it for the looks, kept it for the sound. I wasn't looking for a combo...but after 15 min in the sound room, I had them loading one in my truck. I found my glassy Strat sound with just a little break up when I start diggin' in. That's on the clean channel! Gibson SG on the gain channel, and this thing really growles......I usually run on 12 Watt setting, run master volume on 1, gobbs of volumne if you want it. ( It's always to have too much. Keep in mind it may not be big enough when your playing the Stadium, but how often does that happen?) The reverb is about the best I have heard, lots of linear control all the way around the dial. I have acheved studio quality sounds, clean and crunch using just a little compression in the effects loop. This amp has actually taught me how to get better sounds out of my other amps. Coolest set up yet using a split cable, one side to my other tube amp clean with compression, the other side to this Bugera gain channel on "5" Sound = "Radical"! I'm really happy with this amp. At the least, give it a good test drive with your whip.

Worth Every Dollar and MORE!

Comments about Bugera V22 22W 1x12 Tube Guitar Combo Amp:

I was originally looking at a Vox AC-30 Custom Classic, but after hearing that they are nothing like the original British made ones, I decided to look at other amps. I then came across a youtube video of this amp vs a AC15 and was amazed by the sound the Bugera V22 produced. IMHO it blew the AC15 out of the water in both the clean and dirty channel. I then went to guitar center and tried it out and fell in love. This amp is definitely the best deal you can get. It produces amazing tone and a great British overdrive sound. With also a clean channel, a dirty channel, and a boost button, effects pedals are definitely not needed, but they still sound good with them. Not too sure on it's reliability though since I just got it, but I have heard that these newer Bugeras are built much better than the old ones. Ony time will tell. In the mean time, deifnitely get this amp for those of you looking for that vintage British tone for an amazingly low price! Tube amps that cost this low are unheard of!

Fantastic amp

By Nick

Comments about Bugera V22 22W 1x12 Tube Guitar Combo Amp:

I spent a few months, yes months, researching different choices in tube amps and after narrowing down my choices based on wattage, features, price and sound this amp is the best. I originally wanted a Fender deville and nothing else but there are really a lot of options out there. This amp fits my needs perfectly. Its louder than I need, the two channels help a lot and the power option of triode and pentode increase versatility. above all this amp sounds great. it was either this or peavey valveking.

Comments about Bugera V22 22W 1x12 Tube Guitar Combo Amp:

I've had this amp for about 3 months and I'm extremely happy. I was planning to buy a Hot Rod Deluxe when I went GC. I came out with this amp. It's full featured with a bypass switch, pentode/triode mode for home or jamming with a drummer, included footswitch. It has great tone. I would highly recommend it.

Bugera V22 1X12

Comments about Bugera V22 22W 1x12 Tube Guitar Combo Amp:

I just purchased this amp a week ago and I am very impressed. The range of tones you can obtain from this amp is simply amazing for the price. every knob provides a perceptible difference throughout the dial. I was able to achieve a great range of effects very easily, and every one was very acceptable. I have read about the concerns others expressed about Behringer quality, and unfortunately, I was struck with that problem. There was a short that caused the amp to suddenly cut out and back in. I returned the amp to GC and they took care of me very well, but they did not have any more in stock. But as a testimony to how impressed I was with the sounds of this amp, I just ordered one from the GC website. I just have to have this amp.
