Overview

The stunning Bugera V22 1x12 Tube Combo Amp not only exudes unbelievable sound, but this 22W amplifier also possesses modern flourishes capable of taking it to any corner of the musical landscape. Perfect for practice, home recording, or small club gigs, the Bugera V22 is a loud lad that channels its mojo from 2 EL84 power tubes. These give it the bratty, breakup-prone power amp compression-especially in the its triode mode-its 6L6GC-equipped siblings can only achieve at high volumes.

The Bugera V22 gives you everything that antique amps deliver-without the bloated price tags. Don't be fooled, though; the V22 tube amp packs a special feature that makes it much more than a tribute to the early days of guitar amplification. To explain, we must take a quick step back in time . . .

Before greasy juvenile delinquents hijacked the blues, guitar amps generally came in 2 species: those with triode (having 3 active electrodes) power valves and those with pentode (containing 5 active electrodes) power tubes. Triode valves, which came before pentodes, provide what a lot of guitarists describe as a "gentler" tone. Pentodes, on the other hand, are decidedly more "in-your-face." The Bugera V22 combo is built for power pentode tubes, but that doesn't mean you have to settle for a singular pentode personality. This Bugera amp includes a Mode switch for you to operate the power section as if it had triode tubes-at roughly 40 percent less power. So what'll it be today-old-school or oldest-school?

The sound of the Bugera V22 tube combo begins with a 2-channel (Clean and Lead) preamp. Plug into either the Bright or Normal inputs, then adjust the 3-band EQ (Bass, Mid, Treble) and Presence control to create a sound all your own. Its 3 12AX7 preamp tubes provide the V22 amp with a feast of fuzz. The dual EL84 valves in the power stage propel its terse cockney tone through a Bugera 12" speaker.

If you need to feed more speakers, the V22 amp's Impedance switch adjusts it to 4, 8 or 16 Ohms-which gives it compatibility with just about any speaker cabinet you can find. You also get reverb, but for utmost durability and sound, this classic effect is derived from a professional quality digital processor. The spring reverb found in antique amps sounded great, but they're delicate and expensive to repair. This modern touch on the V22 gives you a vintage sounding reverb sound that's every bit as beautiful, but a million times less breakable. And if all these features weren't enough, you also get an incredibly durable footswitch to select channels and engage the reverb without stopping mid-show.

Whether you're making a record, practicing, or paying your dues on the dive bar circuit, the Bugera V22 Tube Combo Amp complements your guitar-craft with the gold-standard tones of the past-today!

Picked one of these up last week and have ran it thru its paces. What a nice sounding amp. This is a very british sounding 2 channel rocker. Clean channel is like an Vox but with more gain on tap if needed, and the dirty channel picks up from there and gets the amp into Marshall territory. I really like how the two channels interact. The tone controls are shared but they work together to produce two excellent sounds. I gig occasionally and so far in band practice this amp has delivered AC DC,ZZ Top,70's Funk to 80's hard rock. The Pentode Triode switch lowers the power and gives a great tweed vibe. All in all a great package. Highly recommended

Bought this amp a little over a month ago and i was really enjoying it until, one night I was in the middle of a lead riff & it started switching back & forth from the clean/overdrive channel! Luckly, I bought the extended warranty, & Guitar Center took it back with ease. I live about 150 miles from the closest Guitar Center in Dallas(buy all my stuff there/great people)I drove up because they had me a brand new one, in a box, so I exchanged it out. I didnt test it out at the store(I told my wife it was stupid before we left, but we was rushed for time), I just came on back to the house. When I got home, I plugged it in & turned it on. I just looked at the ground when it turned on because there was a buzz then some crackling noise & nothing was even plugged into it! I changed the switch from triode to pentode mode and its not as obvious, but still some crackling noise. I went ahead and plugged into it, thinking maybe when the tubes warmed up it would go away, but it didnt. Besides all that, I really like the amp. I just want to find one that works properly. Moral of the story is, if you like the amp, make sure you buy the extended warranty & test out the one that you are going to leave the store with! Maybe the third one will be the charm for me!

Comments about Bugera V22 22W 1x12 Tube Guitar Combo Amp:

I was looking for a lightweight tube amp with enough power to cut through playing with a drummer. Having always been a fan of Fender amps, I was set on getting the Blues Junior, smaller and more manageable than my previous Deville 410.
The Guitar Center near me had the V22 Infinium in stock so I tried it along with the Blues Junior and Marshall DSL40. I found the V22 to have the clean tones I have come to love from Fender with a great overdrive somewhere between Fender and Marshall. The mid boost and reverb are excellent as well. I have played it with a band and it keeps up without having to be maxed out. I am very pleased with the amp.

Comments about Bugera V22 22W 1x12 Tube Guitar Combo Amp:

This is my first tube amp, so I must admit that I do not have much as a reference point. Yet this amp is AWESOME! I could not believe that I could find an authentic tube amp at this price point! This is not a digital modeling amp, it's the real deal. The gain on the amp is "moderate" but that's okay since I prefer a warm, vintage gain tone anyhow. Plus you can always throw an overdrive in the front and it sounds great (my case is a DOD Overdrive preamp 250 reissue). It sounds great and handles effects well. The effects loop is great at handling modulation and delay effects as well with minimum noise. It does have digital reverb and as long as you keep it at a reasonable level, it sounds decent. The infinium technology works and is pretty cool, especially since I'm new to the world of tube amp maintenance. The pentode/triode switch is awesome too. Unreal value and cool tone.

Comments about Bugera V22 22W 1x12 Tube Guitar Combo Amp:

I just wanted to chime in on this great amp, playing for 52 years I had my fair share of vintage amps. I love this amp for its clean channel, so what if it has dig verb on board, I love it, even if it sits in my studio, it records beautifully! The only thing I added because I'm a bottom end guy, this company makes a compact external speaker cab with the same speaker inside. This gave me everything I could hope for and more. By all means I concure, you can't go wrong with the V22, you just cant. Forget about $1000+ boutique amps, get this one, you will never know the differance in the end game.

Comments about Bugera V22 22W 1x12 Tube Guitar Combo Amp:

I am a gear addict. Have tried most new and vintage gears. Recently i bought a Marshall DSL40C for bar gig and a Bugera V22Watt infinium as practice amp. I ended up using Bugera V22watt amp as my main gig amp. It sounds way better than Marshall to think it is a cheaper brand. Overdrive is thick and cleans up really well. Crystal clear tone. Barely hear hiss/noise on overdrive channel. In conclusion, i learned that expensive doesnt necessarily mean the best. This is the best Amp for the money. I love this amp and is now awaiting a Bugera V55watt which i exchanged the Dsl40C marshall with.

Been playing 40 years, have tried fender, traynor, this little amp for the money is a steal, beautiful tone, lots ot vintage vibe, love the smooth mid and low end, the lead channel is great with lots of dirt if that's where you want to go. The reverb pedal is metal, not some cheesy plastic wannabee, for the price range, I would go there again, no worries, great little amp.. Fellow musicians have also complemented on it's tone

great little amp for the price point... I use the effects loop for my chorus, tremolo, and delay and it sound sounds great on the clean channel but the effects seemed to get buried a bit when I used the lead channel. However, the lead channel sounds excellent on its own. Overall and so far, I am not disappointed with this purchase.

Bought a used Bugera V22. Can't believe how good it is. It has the same tube complement as my Vox AC15, but, because of its design, has more tonal options. Controls are on the front panel, unlike the Vox's on top where they're harder to get to. An extremely versatile, powerful amp. The only pedal that I might use with it would be a little compression to enhance the sustain. Built in China, just like the Vox. Who cares, when it sounds this good and at this price?

I waited 2 monyhs because it was on backorder. After reading many reviews I thought I would give it a try. For the price it sounded too good to be true andn it was. Compaired to my Fender Super-Sonic which is also 22 watts the sound was very week. I played it at a small Blues club and ahd to turen the volume and master up to ten to be heard with another guitar player. My 15 watt Blues Jr is much louder. The Bugera has a very treble sound and not in a good way. It sound much like a solid state amp. I will stick with Fender amps from now on. The Bugera is going back to MF.

Comments about Bugera V22 22W 1x12 Tube Guitar Combo Amp:

I've been playing guitar for over 25 years, mostly just as a hobbyist, but also as a paid musician, and in the studio. I've owned or used most of the big name amps, and a few boutique tube amps. This amp is a perfect bridge between the two, for those on a budget or for those just looking for 'the sound'. I play jam band music (Dead, Phish) and rock. I own a fat Strat and an Ibanez AS73 (hollowbody with humbuckers). This amp handles both effortlessly. I compared this side by side with an AC30, and I preferred the warmth that the Brugera has. The AC30 seems brittle in comparison.

                The pro's:
                -Clear, punchy cleans.
-Rich distortions-even at low levels. Humbuckers absolutely sing
-Effects loop with very little to no signal loss-just leave a pedal on in the chain
-Responsive EQ-I can get very close to the 70's Garcia tone, for example
-Good quality parts-speaker sounds great after breaking in, tubes are nice and warm. Solid footswitch.
-Good volume for practicing-you don't need to crank it.
-Surprisingly decent digital reverb-works for me
-Its loud-plently loud for a small/medium venue. It mic's well too.
-Output for a 2x12, which I'll be buying soon.
-It works well with effects. I'm running a pedalboard with a JHS Little Black Buffer>Qtron+(with a Boss OC3 in the loop)>Boss MO-2>TurboRat>MXR Eq>Volume
In the amp fx loop: Ibanez PT9 Phase>TC Spark Mini>EHX Memory Toy Analog Delay
                -The price.
-The price. Seriously...you won't find this quality for this price anywhere else.

I may buy another for backup or for a stereo rig. I'll have two amps and a 2x12 cab for less than the price of a Twin Reverb.

Conclusion? Buy one. You'll love it. It doesn't have the 'name brand', but it does have the quality.
