Comments about Breedlove STGCONCCD Limited Edition Stage Concert Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

This is one of the best values you'll ever get on an all solid wood acoustic. The cedar top is very dynamic with fingerpicking and alleviates the harshness incurred with spruce tops. I directly compare this with my friends Taylor 714ce which has the same exact top, back, and side woods, as well as size. My friend even agrees that this Breedlove is every bit as great sounding and quality built as his Taylor that cost way more. My luthier set this up for me and also commented about the built quality. He achieved lower action, without any buzz, on this than any of my Martins and Taylor's. I would easily payed twice as much for this guitar.
The only two complaints I could see someone having would be from the form factor and the cedar top. 1. Lets be honest, if you're expecting dreadnought tone from a concert size acoustic, you'll always be disappointed, no matter what brand. 2. Cedar tops, again no matter what brand, from my experience (playing over 25 years) make lighter played notes sound louder than a spruce top. You still have a dynamic aspect, but the cedar really shines when evening out faster fingerpicking styles. Cedar tops are also less dense and are susceptible to hitting a volume limit when strummed really hard. In my opinion, this limit actually gives me a very consistent tone when strumming hard and one of many aspects that I really love about cedar. So, if your looking at a guitar to flatpicking like Tony Rice, this may not be the guitar for you.
I knew the exact woods and size acoustic I wanted and this acoustic has far surpassed all of my expectations. I am a Breedlove fan/buyer for life and will add that this Korean made acoustic is every ounce as well built as all of my American made guitars.
