Overview

The Pursuit Concert WH captures Breedlove’s distinctively crafted sound in an affordable package. Exuding an earthy, warm response from a light touch, the Englemann Spruce-mahogany wood set is one of the most esteemed tonewood combinations. The popular concert body top is made of Englemann Spruce, producing mature tones that are detailed and pleasing. Mahogany graces the back and sides. Includes a built-in USB port for easy interfacing with recording software.

Concert Body Shape
The Breedlove Concert is the original Breedlove shape. It first appeared in 1992, and has been the best-selling Breedlove body shape ever since. Designed specifically for the fingerstylist to be well balanced, compact, and comfortable to play, it generates a wonderfully articulate range of tone with an ample low end that is never boomy, but always felt. The unique construction also allows the Concert to sing even at a full strum. If you’re a fingerstylist, or are seeking an instrument to use as vocal accompaniment, this is the shape for you. The Concert is engineered to provide exceptional sustain with a pronounced bass response, both of which can be achieved with a light touch. The graduated top works in harmony with the Breedlove Bridge Truss to provide an even response throughout the lows, mids, and highs, with sustain, and clear, concise, note-for-note projection.

Top Wood
Engelmann spruce, picea engelmannii, originates in western North America. Engelmann spruce is a silky pale spruce, similar in color to European spruce. It responds best to a light touch and light strings. The tone profile has a warm bass response with great projection. Its extreme lightness in weight produces a more open, “ringier” sound than Sitka spruce. Tonally, it falls between European spruce and cedar and requires less playing time to open up than European spruce. Engelmann spruce is very light in color and is known for its consistent coloring and tight grain patterns.

Breedlove Bridge Truss
The Breedlove Bridge Truss (BBT) reduces tension on the soundboard of the guitar, so the top wood is able to vibrate more freely, producing remarkable sustain, balance, and clarity. The BBT also allows for a thinner graduated top, thereby allowing Breedlove craftsmen to bring out the optimal sound from the top wood without sacrificing structural stability. Relieving much of the string tension from the bridge prevents “bridge belly,” ensuring top stability for decades. Guitar strings can exert up to 230 pounds of pull from the nut to the bridge. Traditional methods for preventing top bowing at the bridge usually involve heavy internal bracing and thicker tops. The BBT compensates for this pressure in an innovative way: The BBT is mounted to the bridge from the inside and is connected into the tail block of the guitar, pulling downward on the underside of the bridge to distribute some of the tension, relieving pressure on the top. The resulting tonal effect on BBT-equipped guitars is more resonance and livelier sound with enhanced overtones.

Breedlove Pinless Bridge
The Breedlove Pinless Bridge helps maintain the integrity of the top by eliminating the need for six drilled string holes. The fewer holes in your soundboard, the more evenly the sound wave can move across the interior, without any loss of energy. The Breedlove Pinless Bridge also provides a gentler string-break angle from the bridge to the top of the saddle, reducing saddle strain. This innovative bridge also makes string changes a breeze, especially on 12 strings. Plus, you’ll never again have to worry about lost, worn-out, or broken bridge pins.

Breedlove Neck
Breedlove guitars feature a slimmer neck profile, which enables comfortable play, even with smaller hands. The hand-rubbed, semi-gloss Breedlove neck finish also contributes to ideal playability. The labor-intensive finish process includes precise finish coat applications, fine sanding, and hand buffing and rubbing.

Set Up and Quality Assurance in Bend, Oregon
The comprehensive quality control process provides the player with an instrument that will play perfectly right out of the box. Prior to shipment, every Breedlove instrument undergoes a rigorous 25-to-30-point inspection in Bend, Oregon by their expert U.S. quality control team. They start with a visual inspection: checking aesthetic and structural elements of the body and components for flaws. Next, each guitar is tuned and undergoes a play test, where our craftspeople check nut height, relief, action and string height. Based on the results of the play test, they are adjusted for maximum playability. Finally, each instrument is buffed and polished by hand with painstaking attention to detail. Once the instrument has passed inspection, a signed QC sticker is placed, and the instrument is carefully packed and shipped.

Limited Lifetime Warranty
Breedlove players around the world can attest: With consistent, proper care, your Breedlove will give you a lifetime of service – and inspiration. New Breedlove instruments are warrantied to be free of defects in materials and workmanship throughout the lifetime of the original owner. In addition to materials and workmanship, Breedlove offers a two-year warranty on tuning machines and electronics packages.

Comments about Breedlove Pursuit Concert CE Acoustic Electric Guitar:

I had recently attended the annual NAMM show in Anaheim & had good looks at all the different manufacture's of Acoustic guitar's and Fender being my favorite. I have also had my eye's on the Taylor GS Mini all Koa which had a rich tone buttery feeling kind of vibe. I still was on the hunt for something really special & on the morning of Jan 27th, 2016 I had cruised on in to GC FV & just like many times before to check out gear. Although this time, my eye caught this beautiful gem of a guitar the Breedlove Pursuit Concert White Acoustic Electric! I was touched by it's beauty & as you all know, I wanted it badly :) so, I left after chatting with the Manager & was thinking about it all afternoon till, I thought of how to wrestle up some $ dollar's to acquire it. I had some other instruments & gear that was basically just collecting dust & decided to utilize it towards my purchase for the BreedLove. The young salesman named Ken was outstanding with inspecting my used gear & giving me way fair return towards my balance. Ken was very friendly, helpful, and patient. I walked out of there with this beautiful guitar for under $200
Guitar Center and it's staff are top notch !!!
Thank you Ken
