Played plugged in or acoustically, the Pursuit 12-String will deliver great tones and textures to enhance your music. Includes built-in USB port for easy interfacing with recording software.

Concert Body Shape
The Breedlove Concert is the original Breedlove shape. It first appeared in 1992, and has been the best-selling Breedlove body shape ever since. Designed specifically for the fingerstylist to be well balanced, compact, and comfortable to play, it generates a wonderfully articulate range of tone with an ample low end that is never boomy, but always felt. The unique construction also allows the Concert to sing even at a full strum. If you’re a fingerstylist, or are seeking an instrument to use as vocal accompaniment, this is the shape for you. The Concert is engineered to provide exceptional sustain with a pronounced bass response, both of which can be achieved with a light touch. The graduated top works in harmony with the Breedlove Bridge Truss to provide an even response throughout the lows, mids, and highs, with sustain, and clear, concise, note-for-note projection.

Top Wood
Sitka spruce, picea sitchensis, originates in the northwest United States. Sitka spruce has been the primary top wood for American-made instruments for decades. It is strong and light with extended harmonic content, and it nearly equals the power of Adirondack. It offers a strong, focused tone with a solid fundamental -- perfect for flatpicking styles. When compared with European spruce, Sitka delivers warmer, more fundamental sound, largely free of overtones. Sitka takes a slightly longer period of playing time to open up. It has a straight uniform grain and coloration ranges from white to pink to light brown.

Breedlove Bridge Truss
The Breedlove Bridge Truss (BBT) reduces tension on the soundboard of the guitar, so the top wood is able to vibrate more freely, producing remarkable sustain, balance, and clarity. The BBT also allows for a thinner graduated top, thereby allowing Breedlove craftsmen to bring out the optimal sound from the top wood without sacrificing structural stability. Relieving much of the string tension from the bridge prevents “bridge belly,” ensuring top stability for decades. Guitar strings can exert up to 230 pounds of pull from the nut to the bridge. Traditional methods for preventing top bowing at the bridge usually involve heavy internal bracing and thicker tops. The BBT compensates for this pressure in an innovative way: The BBT is mounted to the bridge from the inside and is connected into the tail block of the guitar, pulling downward on the underside of the bridge to distribute some of the tension, relieving pressure on the top. The resulting tonal effect on BBT-equipped guitars is more resonance and livelier sound with enhanced overtones.

Breedlove Pinless Bridge
The Breedlove Pinless Bridge helps maintain the integrity of the top by eliminating the need for six drilled string holes. The fewer holes in your soundboard, the more evenly the sound wave can move across the interior, without any loss of energy. The Breedlove Pinless Bridge also provides a gentler string-break angle from the bridge to the top of the saddle, reducing saddle strain. This innovative bridge also makes string changes a breeze, especially on 12 strings. Plus, you’ll never again have to worry about lost, worn-out, or broken bridge pins.

Breedlove Neck
Breedlove guitars feature a slimmer neck profile, which enables comfortable play, even with smaller hands. The hand-rubbed, semi-gloss Breedlove neck finish also contributes to ideal playability. The labor-intensive finish process includes precise finish coat applications, fine sanding, and hand buffing and rubbing.

Set Up and Quality Assurance in Bend, Oregon
The comprehensive quality control process provides the player with an instrument that will play perfectly right out of the box. Prior to shipment, every Breedlove instrument undergoes a rigorous 25-to-30-point inspection in Bend, Oregon by their expert U.S. quality control team. They start with a visual inspection: checking aesthetic and structural elements of the body and components for flaws. Next, each guitar is tuned and undergoes a play test, where our craftspeople check nut height, relief, action and string height. Based on the results of the play test, they are adjusted for maximum playability. Finally, each instrument is buffed and polished by hand with painstaking attention to detail. Once the instrument has passed inspection, a signed QC sticker is placed, and the instrument is carefully packed and shipped.

Limited Lifetime Warranty
Breedlove players around the world can attest: With consistent, proper care, your Breedlove will give you a lifetime of service – and inspiration. New Breedlove instruments are warrantied to be free of defects in materials and workmanship throughout the lifetime of the original owner. In addition to materials and workmanship, Breedlove offers a two-year warranty on tuning machines and electronics packages.

Includes gig bag.

My primary 12 string for 20 years has been a 1965 Guild Jumbo body guitar. I bought this Breedlove because I'd begun to feel that I was taking too valuable a guitar to play at gigs, and I didn't want to see the Guild any further beaten up. I also had decided I wanted a built in pickup system and a cutaway, but all without spending over one thousand. With this in mind, I read reviews and sized upon the Breedlove. For my playing style, I also knew the lack of end-pins on the bridge would be a benefit. I expected something that sounded and played nicely, but I didn't expect a five hundred buck acoustic to feel like a "special" instrument.

What I've found is a guitar that greatly exceeded my expectations in terms of playability, met my expectations in terms of amplified sound, and where I'm very happy with the guitar's unplugged sound, even though I recognize the comparison to a 50 year old instrument is unfair. For chime an jangle, the Breedlove excels. I wish the guitar had more of the bass thump of my old Guild, but the Breedlove still sounds really good. The guitar is pretty quiet when played unplugged. It won't compete with a good dreadnaught. Plugged in, the guitar gets a B- from me in terms of sound. An upgrade to the pickup system to go from just a piezo to a contact pickup and/or mic would make a huge difference here, but probably cost as much as the guitar itself did. That being said, the guitar cuts through a mix nicely and isn't prone to feedback. It absolutely meets my needs. The factory set-up is also flawless if you plan to tune to E. I prefer to tune to D, so anticipate putting heavier gauge strings on and tweaking the action. This will also likely improve the bass response and perhaps my ability to get a little more volume from the guitar acoustically. I do wish the guitar had a fitted case, as finding just the right case has been a challenge. Final evaluation: it's a great guitar for the money, a really good guitar at any price, and plays flawlesly; much more smoothly than my beautiful sounding old Guild.

I purchased a pursuit-concert 12 string. I bought this guitar because I fell in love with Breelove guitars years ago. Breedlove states how they may have some of their guitars built oversea's but once they are back in Oregon they go through a 25-30 point inspection and set-up process. My guitar came with the strings installed as if done by a trained monkey. So poorly was my guitar strung that when trying to tune it the octive { 0.010 } G string slipped off it's ball and broke. There is almost a 3/16 gap under the 7th fret when the 1st and 14 frets were held down for the low "E" string. A bow in the neck. And they do not send you a wrench to adjust the neck. You must buy one. They do not tell you this even after you make a purchase. They don't even give you any proper information about the electronics. They suggest that you go to the electronics website for this. You have to have your guitar inspected by an authorized dealer before you can exchange or return it. The money you loose on shipping alone makes this cost prohibited. Of coarse all the authorized dealers are in Oregone. They don't even mark the polarity on the battery box door so you don't risk shorting out your electronics. My guitar came with a dead battery on the verge of leaking. I would go on but I would like this to be printed. Beautiful guitar indeed, true sound? I will never know because of how it was strung up. I still want the guitar but would of liked to know more information other than "please don't hold 2 Old Hippies LLC responsable for and income loss due to manufactures defects". I remember when Breedlove's concern was it's quality. I understand a guitar could be missed during inspection. But 25--30 times? Just Ray

Comments about Breedlove Pursuit 12-String Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I have no regrets getting this guitar. I have been attempting to buy a 12 string for years already but always changes mind at the last minute. But when I got this, oh man! its worth it. I love the sound and the feel. Im just an intermediate player but already have other guitars (6 string), and so far this it my favorite. Even my wife who is actually not into music or instruments loves the sound also. Plus the gig bag is a bonus!

Comments about Breedlove Pursuit 12-String Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

Former working musician who occasionally still plays professionally. 12 string owner for over 3 decades. This gem plays as good as any Taylor and sounds as good as my 40 year old dreadnought. I almost bought the Taylor (I own one already) but I took a gamble on this one instead. Very glad I went with the Breedlove! Plays as well as any top end 12!

Comments about Breedlove Pursuit 12-String Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I went on a long and thorough hunt for my first 12-string. The first one I played was the Taylor 150 (everyone's favorite) and like most people, I loved it. I kept going to different music stores to try different ones out but there was never that many options, and frankly none of them were even close to the Taylor (in the same price range). So I decided to look online since there were a lot more options. I ran into this one and liked the pictures so I watched a review on YouTube and it looked and sounded great so I took my chances. Very pleased with this guitar and can't stop playing it! The Taylor might have a bit richer sound but the Breedlove has a great neck and is a bit smaller than the Taylor so it's easier to play, and for $200 cheaper, it's a much better deal in my opinion. Only reason I gave it 4 stars is because I was disappointed with the built in tuner (it's not very good at all) but I didn't care, I had my own.

Comments about Breedlove Pursuit 12-String Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I have tried an Ibanez and a Taylor 12-stringat Guitar Center before, but when I saw this one I had to try it. It not only sound just as good a the Taylor, but was comfortable to hold, lightweight, and had this even tone between the bright and warm that accented both higher notes and lower notes when playing it.

This was a present from my parents as a late birthday gift because I couldn't afford it at the time. When it arrived the action was perfect. It stays in tune almost perfectly for weeks at a time in my room, and is easy on the fingers and very playable.

This guitar has some impeccable craftsmanship. Just because it was made in China doesn't mean it was poorly made. The woods used were top quality, is very well built, and the body shape fits me very well.

Thank you Breedlove for this amazingly beautiful guitar!

Comments about Breedlove Pursuit 12-String Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I wasn't really planning to buy another guitar, but this one caught my attention. Already knowing that Breedlove makes some GREAT instruments and the price on this one, was why I researched it further. The one I bought was sold as a "restock" and discounted due to that, but when it arrived, I found that it was a "B-stock", with that disignation coming from Breedlove. As far as I can tell, it was not one that had been sent back to MF.
The fit and finish is excellent. Unlike the ones now available, this guitar has the abolone rosette as shown in the Breedlove video. (I was told by Musician's Friend rep that it would come with the black/white ring inlay instead. Was very pleased when it came with the abolone!)
The action is very low and comfortable to play and the intonation up and down the fretboard appears to be dead on. It does not have as BIG of a sound as, say.... a jumbo 12-string, but is plenty adequate for my needs. The Fishman electronics work well and also have a USB port, allowing for direct connection to a computer. You can record directly to your favorite audio software without the need of a seperate USB Interface!
Bottom line? In my opinion, this is an excellent value for the money!
