My Guitar Smells of Rich Mahogany!

By Riley Sullivan

from San Diego, CA

My wife got this guitar for me on Christmas, I was totally not expecting a guitar (I was expecting a PS4). Anyway, her sister brings it over, and when my wife hands it to me, my face went blank. She must have thought I hated it, because she said she still has the receipt, and I can return it for a Taylor. Truthfully, I have never heard of Breedlove Guitars, I was considering the exchange, but after playing this bad boy for 3 days now, I can't stop playing it! The sound is so amazing, it's a perfect guitar for a rhythm guitar player such as myself. As I was researching Breedlove Guitars, I was pleased to discover that Larry Breedwood used to work at Taylor Guitars. That definitely helped with my decision to keep this beautiful guitar in my hands. I still have not tested this guitar with an amp, but the tuner is very precise.

LOVE this guitar!

By Erin Allard

from Oakland, CA

Just bought this guitar last night, chose it over Martin's entry-level acoustic electric at a similar price point. What I love about my new Breedlove: Such a warm, full, rich, well-balanced sound! Strings are well-balanced and don't compete with each other. Love the deeper top wood finish, definitely gives a full- bodied sound. This is the first instrument I've ever bought and I wanted something that would "fit me" for several years. Worth every penny so far, and I highly recommend it for beginners/intermediate players who want a great sound from an instrument they can "grow into." Will try to update this review in a month after I've played it awhile.

Mahogany wood gives it a real evil tone

By o k

Loving it. Have had it for half a year, no problems. Tone is spectacular. If you're into dissonance and creating / harmonizing scales with lots of minor thirds for your compositions, this guitar will do you right. I am a classical guitar player, and the steel strings are a bit of an adjustment but after a little extra callusing and getting-used-to I find this guitar very easy to play. I don't often use a pick, but when I do, I prefer a Big Stubby. Er, I mean, it sounds nice... Tuner is accurate. Stays in tune well. Alternate tunings resonate nicely.

Worth the Money!

By Uncle JJ

from Movin' Around, USA

This is my second Breedlove. I bought this cool mahogany model while I have some work done on my other more expensive model. My plan is when my first Breedlove is returned I will use this D/MMe to experiment with alternate tunings and slide playing. The sound is darker and deeper than the other Breedloves I've played. I was originally looking at the Martin D-15 but I couldn't justify spending that much for a secondary guitar. This D/MMe sounds every bit as good for less than half the cost. The finish is a little rough, but for the cost I consider this built in mojo. If it weren't for the sand papery spots on the sides I would have given this guitar a 5+. Bottom line, this guitar looks cool, the vintage style tuners are awesome, the sound is rich and the electronics work great. Perfect first guitar or secondary "beater".

good strumming guitar, has a nice mellow but projecting sound. Electronics work good and the built in tuner is handy. Satin finish i really dig.
