Breedlove Passport Concert is designed for ultimate comfort without sacrificing tone. These great-sounding, easy-to-play acoustic guitars are the perfect choice for the musician on the move who requires great performance and versatility for many musical styles.
The Concert with soft cutaway is Breedlove's most popular body shape, favored by players because it is well-balanced, compact, comfortable to play, and offers all the qualities of a great sounding guitar. It generates a wonderfully articulate range of tone with an ample low end that is never boomy, but always felt. The Concert works well when played fingerstyle, as vocal accompaniment, or at a full strum.
Western red cedar is a wonderful wood for fingerstyle players. It is softer than spruce, so it requires a careful and accurate touch, and it rewards with sweet, extended harmonic content.
Back and Sides
Sapele is similar both visually and tonally to dense mahogany, but both darker and harder, giving it a strong visual presence and a bit more upper harmonic content and low-end clarity. It's a good choice for many sizes and shapes, and works well for strumming and fingerstyle.
A satin-finished nato mahogany neck with volute makes the neck comfortable and easy to play. The volute adds strength to the break angle of the headstock. It also acts as a thumbrest for chords played in open and first positions.
The Passport proprietary VTC pickup features a built-in chromatic tuner with a backlit screen and an easily accessible 9-volt battery near the endpin, so it's a breeze to stay in tune in any environment.
Lustrous full-gloss finish, pinless Breedlove bridge and black binding: an attractive package that will make you proud to play this guitar.
Set-Up and Quality Assurance in Bend, Oregon USA
A comprehensive quality control process provides the player with an instrument that will play great right out of the box. Prior to shipment, every Breedlove instrument undergoes a rigorous multi-point inspection in Bend, Oregon by an expert U.S. Quality Control Team. It starts with a visual inspection: checking aesthetic and structural elements of the body, and all components, for flaws. Next, each guitar is tuned and undergoes a play test, where craftspeople check nut height, relief, action, and string height. Based on the results of the play test, we then adjust for maximum playability. Next, each instrument is buffed and polished by hand with painstaking attention to detail. Once the instrument has passed inspection, a signed QC sticker is placed, and the instrument is carefully packed and shipped.

After playing a few guitars, I stumbled across this one. I played a few chords and it was so much louder than the others I've played. I feel so lucky to stumbled across this amazing guitar! The quality on this guitar is really good! I really recommend this for performances and finger-styling too! I also use this guitar at church and it sounds beautiful! I really recommend the D'Addario strings for this guitar and it's what I'm using right now. What I love about this guitar the most is that when you change the strings you can just slip it in the hole and that's all you need to do, no knobs for the strings, no pliers needed, and it's way easier than other guitars!
I've been an electric player for a while but the few acoustics I've had were mostly for practice until I started jamming with some friends on the Mississippi.(two guitar players & a fiddler) I needed a guitar with a pickup so it was time to go shopping. I'm not blessed with Martin or Gibson $$$ so I was checking out some midline stuff. I played the new PRS, some Takamine, & Yamaha and then I found the Breedlove. I tried them all unplugged first & this guy just RANG. Notes were just popping out with great projection & clarity. The others just didn't have the same mojo. I saw the electronics only had volume, low & high EQ along w/tuner so I wasn't completely sold. Then I plugged it in to a Fishman rig in the store. I have to say it sounded just like it did unplugged, only louder. I was quite impressed, especially for the price. The satin finish on the neck felt great, & the action was low, comparable to a well set up electric. So I've lived with it for almost a month. I've never needed a cutaway on an acoustic (never needed to go that high on the neck) but now I have a reason. Great finish on the wood, solid feeling tuners, & I love the pinless bridge. For $500, this baby's a winner.
I'm a worship leader for a church and needed a better acoustic and this guitar was perfect! The body is so simple yet sound beautiful. Feels great in the hand considering the didn't laminate the neck and the guitar plugged in sounds great! I never really play guitar unplugged so I needed one with a great pick up and this delivered on top of the fact that it actually sounds amazing unplugged! It even best out some guitars that where $/1,000+ Plus.
