Overview

The Focus Premier is a solid Sitka spruce top and solid rosewood back dreadnought acoustic guitar with a soft cutaway. The Focus Premier dreadnought has been touched with the performance elements of Breedlove's Premier Line. Appointments include an ebony fingerboard, bridge, and peghead overlay, spoked abalone rosette, and the Breedlove Focus fingerboard inlay pattern. The 5-ply BWBWB top purfling serves as a beautiful compliment to the ivoroid binding. A deeper body depth gives increased power and projection. Focus D Performance

By Anthony Zarola

from Fairfield Glade Tennessee

Comments about Breedlove Focus Premier Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar:

I am a semi-retired Taylor-Guitars-Trained luthier (1973). I have owned and played hundreds of instruments. I am a fingerstylist, playing for 46 years. I purchased this Focus-D Performance from the Knoxville Tennessee Guitar Center. This Breedlove Focus-D Performance rosewood, sitka-top, is my choice for tone, projection, and playability. I will not sell or trade this one! The "Bridge-Truss" system is very unique, in that I am able to adjust the sustain, and tone if the conditions require a fine-tuning. I am very "picky" (pun-intended) when it comes to true performance...These guitars perform! Guitar Center of Knoxville assisted me with the purchase, and all set-up and any possible issues. I will always reccomend Guitar Center for thier professional attitude, and attention to service after the sale. A-1 Rating.

Breedlove Focus "Delight!"

By J.A. Zarola

from United States

Comments about Breedlove Focus Premier Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar:

I became a luthier in 1973 at Taylor Guitars in San Diego. I have owned many guitars. In my search for the "all-around" player, my quest has ended. Full-bodied tone, individual string balance, projection, clarity, playability, fit and finish, all perfect. I purchased this guitar from "Guitar Center" in Knoxville Tn. It is the most responsive, motivating, inspiring guitar I have ever played. I usually buy a guitar, determine it's tone, or playability flaws, and I sell it. This guitar will not be sold. Please play a Breedlove Performance Series..you will not be dissapointed.

One of the Best guitars I've ever played

By Randolph K

from Chino, Ca

Comments about Breedlove Focus Premier Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar:

I was in store for a Martin or Taylor with the possibility of a Gibson songwriter. Upon playing through all the models I happened to remember a friend's mentioning of Breedlove guitars and gave them a shot. Immediately I noticed a well-balanced tone with their tight low-end "piano-bass" tone. I didn't realize it had electronics until the salesman pointed out it was an LR Baggs system and the controls were tucked within the sound hole. Great for aesthetics. The neck/bridge is perfect. Plugged it in and was blown away by the clarity of the electronics. The Martin/Taylor branding is well known and this lesser known company kept me hesitant, but I do not regret this purchase one bit. In all honesty it did cost an arm and a leg, but was one heck of an investment.

My new girlfriend!

By petros316

from Orange, CA

Comments about Breedlove Focus Premier Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar:

I was hesitant about buying this guitar (Breedlove Performance Focus D) because it was way out of my price range. I'm selling a TON of things to pay this baby off. But when it comes down to sound, you can't put a price on something that sounds this amazing. For the last year, I've been looking at guitars, and for the last few weeks, I've been playing a few hours here and there to figure out what kind of high end guitar I wanted to get. Sometimes, I'd play as long as 4 hours straight, back and forth from guitar to guitar. Tried Larivees, Martins, Taylors and Breedloves. It boiled down to the Taylor 710 and this breedlove. And I got this one because of it's 1) tone - Clear from Low mids and highs, all were well blended yet clear at the same time. 2) Resonance. This guitar will ring out warmth. 3) Action - It's easy to play. 4) the pickup! Wow. I've been playing guitar for 18 years now and was a music major in College. I know a good sounding instrument when I hear/play one! If you're an avid guitar player, I'd totally recommend this guitar. Spend some time with it in the guitar store. If you're accustomed to a certain sound, you might be biased due to name brand and price. Best way to do it, sure, play with all of them, but bring a friend who knows how to play well, and have him play each guitar in various styles while you just close your eyes and listen. Then pick. Trust me, you'll pick the Breedlove.
