Discover the fun and expression in this great sounding, highly playable, attractive acoustic guitar. Whether you're just learning, rekindling your passion for the instrument, or an experienced player in need of an affordable instrument that will inspire you, the Breedlove Discovery Dreadnought is a great choice.

Body Shape
The Breedlove Dreadnought is slightly more rounded than traditional dreadnoughts, producing beautifully full, punchy, and articulate tones. The Dreadnought appeals to players inspired by the familiarity of a dreadnought, who are looking for nuance and richness from their instrument. The Breedlove Dreadnought projects well, so it excels in an ensemble, and yet retains the refinement needed for vocal accompaniment.

Sitka spruce is grown in the Pacific Northwest, and has been the primary top wood for USA-made instruments for many decades. It is strong and light with extended harmonic content, and nearly equals the power of Adirondack.

Back and Side Woods
Sapele is similar both visually and tonally to dense mahogany, but both darker and harder, giving it a strong visual presence and a bit more upper-harmonic content and low-end clarity. It's a good choice for many sizes and shapes, and works well for strumming and fingerstyle.

Aesthetic Appointments
Lustrous full-gloss finish, pinless Breedlove bridge and black binding: an attractive package that will make you proud to play this guitar.

Set-Up and Quality Assurance in Bend, Oregon USA
Breedlove's comprehensive quality control process provides the player with an instrument that will play perfectly right out of the box. Prior to shipment, every Breedlove instrument undergoes a rigorous 25-to-30-point inspection in Bend, Oregon by their expert quality-control team. We start with a visual inspection: checking aesthetic and structural elements of the body and components for flaws. Next, each guitar is tuned and undergoes a play test, where our craftspeople check nut height, relief, action, and string height. Based on the results of the play test, they adjust for maximum playability. Finally, each instrument is buffed and polished by hand with painstaking attention to detail. Once the instrument has passed inspection, a signed QC sticker is placed, and the instrument is carefully packed and shipped.

Lifetime Warranty
Breedlove players around the world can attest: With consistent, proper care, your Breedlove will give you a lifetime of service and inspiration. New Breedlove instruments, purchased through an authorized Breedlove dealer, are warranted to be free of defects in materials and workmanship throughout the lifetime of the original owner. In addition to materials and workmanship, Breedlove offers a two-year warranty on tuning machines and electronics packages. Cases and bags are subject to a one-year warranty covering defects in structure and hardware.

So much more than a budget guitar..........plays like butter.

from Alabaster, AL

Comments about Breedlove Discovery Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar:

First of all, my thanks goes out to Zac at the Hoover, Alabama location. No pressure sale but made the suggestion that I try a Breedlove. I had never played one before. I told him I was looking for a budget minded guitar that was easy to play and I would not feel guilty about banging around. My son snatched up my Martin and took it to college with him. This guitar, even though it is considered a budget minded guitar, plays every bit as good as my Martin SP000TR. The action is super smooth. It stays in tune. Zac recommend a set of Medium Elixer Nanowebs. The light Phos/Bronze which were on it when purchased produced a little buzz on the A string. Mediums play flawlessly. I have never owned a Breedlove but I am so glad I purchased one. It's nothing fancy, but if you are basing your purchase decision on sound and playability, you cannot go wrong with this guitar. Thanks Zac for the suggestion.
