When I first noticed this guitar it looked great and yes I walked right past it and picked up all of the Mid ranged priced Martin's and Taylors in the store. I really felt torn and was sure I would regret buying either one. When you are paying that kind of money for a guitar you don't want that feeling. I picked up the Breedlove just to see what it was all about and I fell in love. Honestly played better than any Martin or Taylor twice its price.

I bought this guitar for recording and playing live. I was so happy to get it! After a lot of research I thought wow, this is the one. It truly is a really nice guitar. Sadly to say after about six months of having it a buzzing noise started happening when i would strum it. I went to guitar canter and they put in a bridge doctor.(which i had to pay for but i had no problem doing so cause i loved it) but the noise came back. They ended up offering me another one that they had in the store but that had a little buzz too. Listen closely; if your thinking about getting one, save up two hun more and get a Martin performing artist series gutiar. guitar center was helpful in crediting be the value for the breedlove and cutting me a deal on the Martin. I was sad to get ride of the Breadlove but the Martin is better.

the look, sound, and feel of a high end guitar

By Radu Custelcean

from Dayton, OH

I've just bought this guitar from the GC after reading all the excellent reviews on line. I already own a Taylor 414ce and a Martin D35, but I needed an additional guitar to take with me at my secondary residence out of state where I commute every week. I've had a Seagull S6 for this purpose, which I also bought based on its excellent reviews, but it just felt so inferior when played after my Taylor and Martin. Interestingly, some of the reviews on the Seagull compared it with the higher end guitars, but from my experience it was nothing like it. So I decided to trade it in for a Breedlove D25, once again based on its perfect reviews, although this time I was more skeptical. They had one on display at the GC and I gave it a try. It sounded pretty good except it had a buzz on the 5th fret. They opened another one at my request, which had no buzz but the action was now too high. However, after lowering the action a little bit it was just right. I am extremely happy with this guitar. I noticed that almost every review compares it with Taylors and Martins, so I'll do the same, especially that I now own one of each. Well...it does not quite measure up in sound with my Martin D35, particularly at the low end; it just does't have the booming, piano-like bass of the Martin. Nevertheless, it holds its own when it comes to the overall tone, volume, sustain, balance, and dynamic range. I would say it's on a par with the Taylor 414ce, which costed me about 80% more. And the Breedlove looks just as good and luxurious as the other two. When I play it it just feels like a high end guitar. The only slight downside is that it is a bit heavy compared to my other guitars, but it doesn't really bother me. The case is beautiful and high quality , comparable to my Taylor's case and better than Martin's. Overall just an outstanding guitar at a bargain price.

Great acoustic for the money

By Thomas Wenzel

from Chicago

For the money, this is the best acoustic/electric I could find. This has the clarity of a Taylor, but has more warmth. Comfortable neck, but slightly too narrow at the nut. I wish this has the standard spacing like their American made models. The action on mine is also slightly too high, I'll have to take this in to lower the nut a bit. This guitar has excellent balance low to high, but if I had to say anything negative, I would characterize this guitar as "polite and refined". It won't bark back at you if you hit it hard and doesn't have a lot of overtones. So, it's slightly lacking for Country & Blues. We'll see how much this opens up over time. The plugged in sound is excellent, the built in tuner is very good. Excellent fit & finish. I couldn't find anything else at this price point that sounded as good as this Breedlove.

Hand Crafted in Korea

By David Scheall _

from Seattle, WA

I thought this guitar was USA made because it is a Breedlove. The Atlas and Passport Class of Breedloves are made to Breedlove specs in Korea and then imported. This guitar is a sweet deal and blows away any acoustic electric in it's price range. Acoustic sound and play ability exceed or equal any other 3k axe like a Hummingbird, Taylor 814, 714, Martin D28, D18. The solid tone woods really work for this guitar. I played it against everything. I liked the Aura electronics in the JCPA4 better but unplugged this sounded a tad better to me. Comes with a beautiful HSC in black leatherette with red thread, very sexy case. Black plush inside. The fit is tight causing the volume knob to come off when removing from case. Now I just take it off, doesn't spend much time in the case anyways, but that will eventually cause that pot to break. Fit and finish on guitar excellent, real abalone inlays on finger board and rosette. Plays outstanding, setup perfect out of box. Beautiful guitar, neck is fantastically fast and smooth. Bindings are an aged cream off white color. Built in tuner very handy and accurate, handles double drop D and open tuning easily. The only cons are it is not made in the USA and the case is a tight fit. I hope its resale value holds up and this brand doesn't fade into oblivion.

More Bang for your Buck

By Joe Benda

from Baltimore

I was torn between buying a low end model Taylor or a Martin Guitar. I went back and forth playing each model trying to narrow my choices. All of the sudden I noticed this beautiful guitar. The quality and sound of this instrument for its price was excellent. It also came with a nice hardcase.

So Glad I Bought This Guitar

By Grant Van Dolah

from Lake Saint Louis, MO

I was looking for a Martin or Taylor and during my search I stumbled upon Breedlove. I talked to people about Breedlove and read many, many reviews..... I am from Oregon and never heard of Breedlove (an Oregon based company) so I did some research into this company and their instruments. What convinced me to buy a Breedlove after all of this legwork was when I picked one up. The Breedlove just felt good and sounded even better. The Breedlove Atlas Stage Series D25/SRe is probably the best $1000 guitar you can buy (in my opinion). Don't take my word for it.....just play one.

Tone and sustain!

By omar rodriguez

from Puerto Rico

A solid guitar with beautiful aesthetic details without sacrificing sound or the price. The case is worth. In short, I can say it is the best guitar for beginners and professionals at a reasonable price. has a large sound, because the body is quite wide. When you connect to the audio system, with a good reverb pedal sounds pretty good. will be a blessing!

Great Mic

By Isaac Williams

from Canby, Oregon

I have been playing guitar for four years now. Last christmas my parents bought me a cheap fender starcaster acoustic because I didn't have anything but an electric. I have been leading worship at a non-denominational christian youth group that i've been involved in for three years, and have been using my les Paul to do so. This last year I have been using my youth pastors Taylor 414ce more than my electric, which made me realiz that I needed an acoustic electric guitar, especially since I am going to be attending Boise Bible College in the fall of 2012 to study worship ministry :) I have been looking for over six months switching between Taylors and Martins(I know i'm just like everyone else haha). Towards the end of my search I found the taylor 210ce and started to do a lot of research on it. On one guitar forum I was reading people were discussing the 210ce and someone brought up that they sold their 210ce to get this so called "Breedlove". Now I had heard of breedlove, but not as much as taylors and Martins of course. I read further and got the model of the breedlove and it was this guitar. I started to do some online reading on this guitar and nearly everything was five stars, almost NO complaints! So I went in to Guitar Center yesterday to check it out because I had fallen in love with it online and wanted to see what it was really made of. The guy helping me went and grabbed the guitar for me so I sat down to play it.........................oh...my...goodness...This guitar was the best guitar I've ever seen/played/heard ever!!! The satin finish on the neck is to DIE for! The inlays on the fret board, the pearl design around the whole body...Flawless! But then again thats unplugged. So I went and plugged itin...OH MY GOODNESS!!! It just gets better! there is so much control that the LR Baggs lets you have. I walked back out to the guy who gave it to me after playing it for an hour and put it on layaway. I went and got it at 7pm August 1st. In my opinion Breedlove is better than taylors. For the price...Get it!!! It beats my youth pastors 414ce by far!

Amazing...

By Jong Hoon Lee

from Leonia, NJ

When I first when to GC, I was planning to get a Taylor 214CE because my best friend (Goes all for Taylor) has the 210E and it sounded amazing and felt amazing. As I was going to purchase the 214, I spotted this breedlove guitar. I wasn't very familiar with this brand, but as soon as I picked it up and started to play it, it was a heaven. I've had it for 3 days now and I can never put it down! It sounds so much better and even my Taylor obsessed friend admitted that this was better than a 214CE. This is definitely worth your money. P.S. IT'S VERY SEXY LOOKING!

Amazing Guitar!!

By Sarah Summers

from Colorado Springs, CO

I have been playing guitar for 8 years now and wanted to buy a really nice guitar. I have had an Epiphone acoustic for 4 years and wanted to get a Taylor or Martin. I asked a guitar specialist at Guitar Center which guitar i should get and he showed me this Breedlove. At first, i wasn't pleased because i wanted a good brand name guitar. But, once i played this guitar, i fell in love with it. It has the clearest, crispest sound i have ever heard on a guitar priced this cheap. I would reccomend this guitar to anyone!
