very nice

Comments about Breedlove Atlas Stage C250/CK 35th Anniversary Limited Edition Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I purchased this guitar after having tested several for about three weeks. The tone out of this little thing is very rich. I would have bought it sooner, were I not leary of the laminate koa sides. For 1.5k i ususally expect a solid wood guitar, but the fact that Breedlove uses only tonewoods in their construction, and that the guitar was set-up and inspected in Bend got me over the sides. The koa laminate finish is simply stunning. A kind of flamed honey appearance. The cedar top is very handsome. I am still getting used to the thinner fret board on this model. Its several mms narrower than their pro series, but I am adapting well I think. And who can beat Breedlove's customer support, a real, live, friendly human being. I rate it a 4 rather than a 5 because of the narrower fret board (a personal preference) and the fact that the back and sides are laminate and not solid with a 1.5k price tag.

Exceptional Sound and Value

Comments about Breedlove Atlas Stage C250/CK 35th Anniversary Limited Edition Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

While looking at acoustics, I was fairly set on a high end Epiphone or perhaps a Takamini, I eventually ended up in the Martin / Taylor / Breedlove room. Dreaming at first, then playing each brand. After much consideration (and killer sale prices), the Breedlove shown here was an obvious choice. THEN, after playing/hearing all the wood combos available in this model (spruce/mahog, spruce/ovankol, etc., this girls Cedar and Koa combo won me over. Not only is the clarity and sustain phenomenal, the quality of work and attention to detail won me over. Not to mention the lifetime guarantee. Combined with the stores generous markdown, website price matching, and a Memorial Day Sale, I am one happy camper! I am CERTAIN that with direct comparison, you will agree, Breedlove has met or beaten the mark set by its two predecesors. Now, if I could only talk my wife into the ultimate gift, the Experience at the Breedlove factory (6K or 9K dollars), which of course includes your personally made guitar, hand selected woods and appointments by YOU, all expenses paid but trans.) Still, an exceptional value for what you get. THANKS GUITAR CENTER for helping my acoustic dream come true.

Beautiful sound and appearance

Comments about Breedlove Atlas Stage C250/CK 35th Anniversary Limited Edition Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I bought this guitar after playing just about every Martin, Taylor, Gibson, and other Breedloves at my local GC. Each had their unique sound, but ultimately I loved the warm sound this cedar top produced. I didn't know much about this brand until I went home and researched them. This guitar is well crafted and includes aesthetics not often found on guitars in this price range. The koa is gorgeous and I don't feel the laminated back and sides affects the overall sound quality. This is a guitar anyone would be proud to own. My one concern was the electronics. I had trouble getting the battery box opened. It's spring loaded and without a battery seemed to get jammed. Once I installed the battery though, it opened and closed without any problems. A quick plug for my local GC (Houston I-45) - the staff was very friendly and helpful as I was contemplating my choices. One of the staff, an older fellow in classic cowboy western wear, sat down with me and played the guitars I liked. Being fairly new at guitar playing, I enjoyed hearing him play, but he also encouraged me when I played too. Overall, my experience both with this guitar and the folks at guitar center was very positive.
