Voiced for recording, this highly resonant and full sounding Breedlove bass with an extra-deep jumbo body sounds great acoustically and is ready to plug in and play out. The L.R. Baggs LR-T CV Tuner Preamp is designed for serious performers with 3-band EQ, presence, phase and a stealthy chromatic tuner. Includes case.

I have been searching for an acoustic bass that would perform acoustically with one other acoustic guitar. I played three of these before I found one that was loud enough. No other ABG came close. I played all I could find, but did not have the pleasure of playing the Warwick Alien. Fit and finish was much better than most. With a proper setup this bass is not only loud it is very playable. I had to file the nut slots to level the strings and sanded the bridge to lower the action. Gave the truss rod a little relief and snugged up the JLD brace. It plays really well.
This is the best acoustic bass guitar i have played in three years. I own several Breedlove guitars, and will with no doubt, add this to my collection. The sound from this thing is amazing, the looks are beautiful, and it is extremely comfortable. No other acoustic bass has been able to comfortably fit in my lap. My two band mates were with me at guitar center when i tested it out. We played several songs, and i could always hear myself through the two of them (one singer with a twelve string, and another who is a very hard strummer). The body of the bass is the exact same as the Breedlove Passport C250/CMe, and has a very similar preamp. The difference being the top wood of the bass(sitka spruce) and the preamp back light(yes its lit) turns red when your out of tune, and green when your in tune. The controls on the preamp are low, mid, high, and also, in-line mute, notch, and phase(not to be confused with "phaser"). I should also mention that it is very light.
This bass is fantastic! The L.R. Baggs electronics are very good. When played through a 10" speaker on my Fender Bassman amp, it is amazing. A very rich tone acoustically as well. My wife and I play together with bass and acoustic guitar, and this bass is perfect! Outperforms the Ibanez, Fender, Dean offerings by a mile. The set-up is great, right out of the nice hard-shell case. The tuner tunes accurately and the tone shaping abilities of the EQ is very good. I got this bass at an additional discount with a coupon, and feel very lucky to own such a fine instrument at such a fair price. Fit and finish superb. Completely exceeds my expectations. I high recommend Breedlove instruments.
I had never heard of Breedlove Guitars before. So i had to go into guitar center to buy an acoustic bass for a live acoustic show i had coming up and they only had two acoustic basses to choose from. A black Ibanez with fancy ingravings and the Breedlove Studio BJ350. I was like "BUMMER" looks like i'm out of luck here. I picked up the Breedlove first and was so impressed with it, i didn't even consider playing the Ibanez.(never have been very impressed with Ibanez, even though it was my first electric guitar, and i hated it). I was sold on the Breedlove. It has such a rich tone, great action, and is beautifully constructed. i love the color and the built in tuner. If you are an agressive guitar player like me you can also get a great gritty sound from it. I'm sponsored by Fender, and this bass blows their acoustic basses out of the water. i probably shouldn't say that, but they have there own thing going on in the electric world, and i am totally and completely devoted to them in that department. I haven't been able to put the Breedlove acoustic bass down, and that's rare! i play bass in my band and i usually do a lot of writing on 6-string acoustic guitars, which was my main instrument to start out with until i joined the band i'm in and there was only room for a bass player. now i get the best of both worlds acoustic and bass. Thanks Breedlove! You have me sold for life! Anonymous musician
You will really like the Breedlove bridge bracing, especially on a bass. Fit and finish is what you would expect for this level of instrument, and honestly, this acoustic bass should suffice for all but a few players. Consider this model if you want one Acoustic bass that will outlast you. Don't be afraid to spend a little more and get something that should satisfy 99% of players. It has great unplugged volume for an AGB, the electronics are top-notch, and the case (certain stores throw in a free case) is incredibly sturdy. The factory setup is fantastic although it is a little high for my tastes, but as with anything of this caliber you get an extra bridge in the case so you can customize it. It is light, and there is no deadness from the spruce top, it sings. If I lost this one I would probably replace it with the exact same model. You can obviously get a "decent" instrument for less, but you would be hard pressed to justify spending any more for anything else. I would recommend this if you are want to upgrade to a louder, crisper cleaner ABG, or even if this was your first ABG. For most musicians it would be the last one you ever need.
