Amazing Quality and Sound

By Nodrog

  • Sound playability look

    Best Uses

    • Great finger style sound

I have been playing professionally for (can it really be that long? OMG) more than 50 years. Of course I have lots of guitars (G.A.S>- Guitar Acquisition Sysndrome) electrics (Gibson Les Paul Custom, ES-335's etc), Guild 12 and 6 String, (F-512/F-50R), and even a Martin D-45 ('73). However, this Breedlove sounds as good as the best of these and much better than most of them. A long-time pro rock guitarst friend of mine suggested breedlove. Boy was he right!

    I'm a breedlover

    By New Owner-WI7b8

I've been playing for 12 years now, I have 11 guitars and it was time for a new acoustic. I refused to buy one without playing it first, but I couldnt find one in my price range that I liked. Being forced to search online I came across this guitar. I figured what the hey, if I dont like it i'll return it. I took it out of the case and tuned it and started playing and I'm just amazed at the sound. It sounds as good as or better than high end Martins and Gibsons. I was very skeptical but I absolutlely love it. I can't wait to show it off to my friends and I plan on owning this guitar for the rest of my life. Try it out.P.S. It also feels nice to own a nice guitar that isnt such a mainstream brand.

Cant go wrong with this one......

    By Bob

All I have to say is, go to guitar center and pick one up and play it for a minute you will fall in love with it. Then go play a $2500 Martin or Taylor and you will see what you are getting for your money. Like I said you cant go wrong. Plus there customer service is great, had a input jack go out on mine they replaced it for free no questions asked and very friendly. What more could you ask for.

Bought this one last night. I also have a Martin DC-16RGTE, MIM Strat w/SCN pickups retrofitted and an Epiphone Broadway. Am very Martin oriented, but for the $, this guitar is, no exaggeration, fantastic. I stayed up too late playing. Overall sound compares very favorably to Martin D-28. If you like the Martin sound, you will love this guitar. The neck is very comfortable. The wood is beautiful & various appointments like the purfling are very nice, but I bought this one for the sound, which to me is about all that counts. I still want a D-41, but for now, this will do quite nicely. Some would think the sides being ply instead of solid to be a problem, but I perceive none here. Can't find even the smallest of flaws in quality. Incidentally, action was just fine and no setup was necessary on this particular guitar.

    Got To Be Breedlove

    By DarthRocker

    from Philadelphia PA

I had wanted a Breedlove for the longest time based on looks alone. They are not easy to find in the Northeast, most stores don't carry them, and shocking many people have not heard of them. I used to druel over pictures of these incredibly unique instruments. I was a broke student and didn't think i would get one anytime soon. I finally walked into a shop that had them and got to jam on one. I was super pumped to find that the sounds and playability of these babies were as impressive if not more than the looks. One day I saw this model the AD20 SR Plus used (barely used) at a great price, and I could not restrain myself. I never ever intend to buy another guitar that does not say Breedlove on it.

I managed to get this guitar for a great price brand new. I would have happily paid twice that. As with all guitars PLAY THEM before you buy them. You can read all the reviews you want, but its your opinion alone that counts.

    My best axe

    By Drulling fool

    from Spokane, Wa

Although I didn't buy it new this axe is still my best. When this guitar is strummed it like Heavens Angels are singing through the guitar. It finish is like a shimering dimond that just will not scratch. When I opened the case the guitar smiled at me and said "buy me." With pleasure I said and since then we have been best friends.

    What a surprise!

    By Anonymous

I picked up a used AD20/SR Plus, from a local shop, that was traded in on a T5. I think I started loving it as I removed it from the wall, and after an hour I was hooked. It's a beauty to behold and to hold, the neck is great, and the sound simply amazing. I've played many guitars in this price range and think I'd have to spend a LOT more to get a better guitar. Don't let the fact that the sides are ply scare you off, the top is fine solid spruce, and the back is beautiful solid rosewood. The JDL bridge truss system is a bit weird, and makes installing under-bridge pickups a bit tricky, but the sound quality makes these minor things unimportant. This box delivers. I'll find a way to amplify it, or just use a mike for recording and use my other guitars for live performance. The supplied case is excellent.

    Awesome guitar

    By Brent-7-uaP

    from Lafayette, LA

I tried countless guitars in this price range looking for that Martin D-28 sound without the D-28 price. This Breedlove blew the competition away. I had narrowed it down to the AD20/SR Plus and the Blueridge BR-160 and compared the Breedlove heads up to a buddy's blueridge and the breedlove won hands down in volume, tone, and looks. He also has a 1975 Martin D-35 that the Breedlove held its own against. I thought it actually sounded better, but I'm probably a little biased. It may not sound exactly like a classic D-28, but it has it's own distinct warm tone that will turn heads at any jam session, and you won't have to worry about volume. It is a cannon. Plus the case it comes with is awesome. I highly recomend this guitar for someone who doesn't want to spend over $1,500 for a guitar.

    Amazing Guitar!!

    By Brent

    from Lafayette, LA

I was looking for that D-28 sound without the D-28 price (isn't everybody?). I tried this guitar at the local Guitar Center and instantly fell in love with it. It isn't the same sound as a D-28, to me it's a little more balanced, it has its own unique sound. It has a that deep bass like a Martin and crystal clear trebles like a Taylor all wrapped up in a beutifully crafted guitar. It will flat out blow away guitars in its price range in volume, tone, sustain and playability. In fact, I compared it to guitars twice as expensive and to me it sounds better than most. I installed a B-band UST in mine and have gotten many remarks on how open and natural it sounds plugged in. For the money it is just a great guitar.
