If you can't afford a Taylor or Gibson, a Breedlove like this is right up your alley. After buying one and playing it for three months, I'm starting to even prefer its sound over some Taylors and Gibsons. The balance of the lows, mids, and highs is impeccable, and makes you wonder if they really did factory-make these guitars. They are all hand-inspected back in the U.S., so no worries. This is probably the most amazing guitar at its price range. You have to go to a GC and play it for yourself.

Best sounding guitar in the store!

By joshfishjosh

Comments about Breedlove Atlas Series AC25/SR Plus Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I was in the market for a new acoustic, so I started with the Taylor's and Martin's. All of those sounded very nice. The guy from Guitar Center spent over 2 hours with me and we searched every acoustic in the store for the best sounding one. When we got to the Breddlove's, it was night and day compared to the rest of them. All of them sounded great, but most of them sounded incredible. When we were done, I just thought I had the best one in the store. He went ahead and pulled one out of the box just incase. It was even prettier. It has the warmest, deepest and crisp lows that carry on for 20 seconds or so. It has the brightest, most harmonizing highs I have ever heard. Some artist friends of mine want to use it for their recordings on their CD's. When I got it home, I looked a little closer to the pick-up electronics and realized it had a built-in tuner. WOW! This is an unbelievable piece of artwork.

Compact, beautiful tones & style, stunning value

By MickeyPlinker

Comments about Breedlove Atlas Series AC25/SR Plus Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

This is a small bodied concert guitar, the best looking cutaway ever. It has a lovely voice, vibrant in the mids but understated on both E strings, the classic "balanced sound". Although not as loud as D-bodies, strumming a full handful still gives you the same thrilling harmonics. If you like to whang away this is not the guitar for you. It doesn't even have a pick guard. But when plugged in you can easily mix company with the big boys and you?ll sound better than most of them by far. The fit and finish are extremely good with abalone inlays and a bound rosewood fretboard. Breedlove's styling beats everything out there, beautiful just sitting there on the stand. All woodgrains are flawless. The action is set low at the factory but mine had some low E buzz. Also, the fret ends may need a little edge softening on the underside of the neck. Don't get this guitar unless you like being the center of attention. This must be the best value in guitars right now and I'm really glad to have one.

Own a breedlove: fantastic incentive to practice!

By DaughterofDestiny

from Dallas, TX

Comments about Breedlove Atlas Series AC25/SR Plus Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

About three weeks ago, I picked up my daughter's discount center guitar and decided I would like to learn to play. By the end of the week, my husband insisted on taking me guitar shopping and we found ourselves at Guitar Center, mesmerized by the plethora of guitars of every shape, size, design and price. Realizing that the purchase of a guitar is an investment not to be taken lightly, I had done a little research ahead of time. I knew that I wanted to purchase a quality instrument that I would enjoy playing and would have every feature I may need in the future. Still, neither my husband nor I felt qualified to choose a guitar, so we asked a lot of questions. We were immediately impressed with the design, sound and price of the Breedlove. Two days later, we were back to look again. Once again, when my eyes met the Breedlove I just couldn?t look any further. I thought I should wait and talk to some of my friends that are experienced players before making the purchase. My husband, a very insightful man, was confident that the Breedlove Atlas Series AC25/SR Plus was the guitar for me. How could I turn down the opportunity to take this beautiful instrument home? To ease my mind, I brought the guitar to worship practice a few days later to show it off and the reactions I received convinced me that we had made a great decision. After admiring its craftsmanship and playing the Breedlove, my musician friends couldn't believe that such a fine instrument was so affordable. I've been playing my new Breedlove for two weeks now and have a hard time putting it down. I am amazed at what a pleasure it is to learn on such a quality instrument and convinced that it has expedited my learning process. The decorator in me is delighted to have such a beautiful work of art displayed in an honored, not to mention easily accessible, spot in my living room. The student in me is amazed at the lovely sounds that emanate from this guitar at the hand of a novice such as I. My practical side is pleased to have found such an incredible value. What more can I say? The Breedlove is outstanding in every way!

Comments about Breedlove Atlas Series AC25/SR Plus Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

If you like being the center of attention this is the guitar for you. I just got mine this week and I played on stage at my church in front of about 5000 people. Through the PA this thing sounded amazing. Not only does it have amazing tone it has a unique look with the soft cutway that can not be mistaken. I have a feeling this company is going to give taylor, martin and gibson alot of grief. great value, great tone....easy decision,

Amazing Price for an Amazing Guitar

By Chris

from Bellingham, WA

Comments about Breedlove Atlas Series AC25/SR Plus Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

This guitar shows great quality and projects an awesome sound, with a price that is extremely affordable. With rosewood back and sides, sitka spruce top, beautiful abalone inlays, and ivoroid bound body and neck, the AC25/SR Plus looks and sounds stunning. The bass sound is deep and loud, while the higher end notes also penetrate clearly. A brilliance effect is on the side, bringing out the high notes even more, and giving a pleasant ringing-like sound to each chord. This guitar is smooth, yet bold, and sounds great when finger-picking, but also has a very full sound, great from strumming on-stage. I play this guitar for my church's youth group nearly every week, and she always puts on a great show for both louder, rock songs, and the softer tunes. This guitar never lets me down! The electronics are simple to use, featuring simply "volume", "bass", "middle", "treble", and "brilliance" knobs. The only downside to the pickup is that the higher end notes sometime become too ringy. However, this is often fixed by lowering the "brilliance". One of my favorite features is the built in chromatic tuner on the side. When the tuner is turned on, by a small black button near the volume knobs, the pickup automatically deactivates, making tuning easy and almost completely unnoticeable onstage. Finally, this gorgeous guitar takes one D size battery, which pwoers the tuner as well, and lasts close to 3 months, depending on how frequent the guitar is used. And I suggest using it often, for the guitar is great and the price even better!

Worth more than you had to pay

By BeeGeeBruce

from Elyria, Ohio

Comments about Breedlove Atlas Series AC25/SR Plus Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

Although you may find this an odd method, I always determine what something is worth, by the "Car buyback Process" and by factoring two simple things: 1). How does the Guitar sound and feel, (perform)? 2). How does the Guitar make me feel, befor during and after playing? The "Car Buyback Process" is related to how I judge the value of a new or used car, and, in this case, a Guitar: For example: Ask the dealer to set a price or percentage of the purchase price, on what he/she would give you if you brought back any new car, (Guitar), after using it for two months, or 60 days. You would be surprised as to what these things are really worth. Some cars hold their value much better than others, and so it can also be said for BreedLove guitars. Their workmanship, attention to detail is above the price class they fall into, but, even more important, blindfold yourself, and have someone hand you one guitar after the other, from $300 to $3000 and more often than not you will pick the $995 Breedlove, over guitars costing 3 times as much, for Feel, playability, and sound/tonal quality.

Look No Further!!

By Jay Miller

from Struthers, OH

Comments about Breedlove Atlas Series AC25/SR Plus Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I've been looking for a professional acoustic/electric for quite some time now. Played all the Martins, Taylors, and Gibson known to man and never really found a sound that justified spending that much. So I went to my local Guitar Center and a Breedlove caught my eye. Never really heard of them, but checked it out and the instrument was well crafted so I decided to play it. PLugged it in to an amp and strummed a chord and couldn't believe my eyes. This thing sounded incredible. At a $1000, you can't find a better acoustic. Thanks Breedlove.

Best guitar in the room!

Comments about Breedlove Atlas Series AC25/SR Plus Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I purchased this guitar recently and I must say comparing side by side to my other, Breedlove has it hands down on looks and tone! My roommate plays a Taylor-LTD and he is even jealous actually the person who recommended the guitar to me. Buy one while they last I am sure they will become scarce with how amazing they are at the price. George-Dallas, TX

Beautiful

By Chase

from Kankakee, IL

Comments about Breedlove Atlas Series AC25/SR Plus Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I first picked up this guitar simply because its stunning looks. The Abalone around the body and in the rosette, along with the fingerboard marker inlays are very eye-catching. I didn't expect a guitar of this price to sound nearly as good as it looked. It did! This guitar sounds very clean and loud. I own a higher end Breedlove 12 string and this lived up to my expectations. Bright and loud for high energy players, this one's a keeper!

Beautiful, but some reservations

By Joshua

from Columbus, Ohio

Comments about Breedlove Atlas Series AC25/SR Plus Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I actually bought this guitar almost immediately after playing it. It's a beautiful piece - the soft cutaway makes for a very nice line, the abalone inlays are gorgeous, the binding looked nice, and the only slightly distracting feature is the maple neck against the rosewood (I'm being picky, ha!). However, it's maybe a little "blingy" for my tastes - I actually like more traditional designs most of the time. It sounds wonderful too. The rosewood helps create a nice dark tone - a little scooped in the mids, very warm. Fingerpicking = perfect, strumming = nice, although I strum pretty lightly. Heavier strumming probably wouldn't work as well. Unfortunately, after playing it in my room for a few days, I noticed an odd, high-pitched rattling/buzzing noise coming from what seemed to be the bridge. I could hear it primarily on the A, D, and G strings, on almost every fret at some point or another. I took it to a local luthier and they weren't sure what to make of the noise - it wasn't fret buzz, the saddle looked fine, and nothing seemed loose on the outside or inside of the guitar. I went back to Guitar Center and played a few other Breedlove AC's, and they all made a similar noise, especially the rosewood models. I had to return it, in the end. I'm not sure what to make of this - it's something I've only noticed on Breedlove's pinless-bridge guitars. I just wonder if I'm hearing something OUTSIDE the guitar that normally is heard INSIDE the guitar (and since I don't normally shove my head into the soundhole, I'm not too worried about internal noises). YMMV of course - they're definitely worth playing, and seem to be a great value, especially if you don't notice the rattling like I did. Maybe I'm crazy.

Great guitar great price

Comments about Breedlove Atlas Series AC25/SR Plus Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I went to Guitar Center a few months ago with enough money to buy a Martin or a Taylor. I had heard about Breedlove but had never played one before. After playing all three brands, it was clear to me that the Breedlove had way better tone and seemed to be better built. It was just kind of hard to believe that the price was half that of the Taylor and Martin. It's also a better looking guitar too.I bought it thay day.

Comments about Breedlove Atlas Series AC25/SR Plus Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

Great Sound!! I've been playing for 30 years, I'm not a great player, but I have a good ear (or two of them last time I looked in the mirror). I wanted something new, sales clerk asked me to try out this Breedlove, it was love at first strum. So I have an AC/25SR on lay-away, trying to contain my excitement, my wife will freak when I bring home another guitar.

Sweet warm tones

By Gary T.

from S. Cal

Comments about Breedlove Atlas Series AC25/SR Plus Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I sat down and tried a number of acoustic electric guitars from Ovation to Taylor, before settling down on this sweet lady. Its easy play and warm tonal qualities would place this guitar with any upper end Taylor. The Taylors were brighter in sound, but did not have the depth and warmness that I like in an instrument. Price wise... what a bargin. The case that came along with the guitar is a tank. Absolutely solid. It's like having the incredible hulk protecting your love.

awesome guitar

By Travis

from Pensacola

Comments about Breedlove Atlas Series AC25/SR Plus Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I had never heard of Breedlove before I got this guitar but it has become one of my favorite brands. I can't think of any problems with this guitar. It plays great, sounds great, and looks great. I have played some very nice guitars (Taylor, Martin etc.) and they are no better than this. I prefer this guitar to the "higher-end" ones any day. What really made me like this guitar more than the others is that not only does it sound and feel great, but it looks good too. So many Taylors and Martins have a great sound and feel but look like a piece of driftwood. The tuner and eq is awesome as well. This is definitely my favorite guitar and I would recommend it to anyone.
